Welcome back everyone to the Fitness Education Online podcast. Today we have an awesome guest joining us, James from the Health Coach Grow Hub, talking all things growing your health coaching business. So obviously here at FEO, we are all about education, you know, getting qualified as a coach and then continue education with your CPD courses. But for a lot of coaches, coaches who, you know, put in all these hours with their studies. It's a little bit like, okay, well now what? So James is the best one to speak about all these things.
It's his bread and butter essentially. So it's gonna be awesome to have this chat with him today. So a big welcome to you, James. How are you doing?
I'm doing well. Thanks for having me on. How are you, Bex?
Very good. Thank you. Yeah, it's so awesome to have you on. Kind of like I was saying, I feel like it's a very timely conversation with um our new nutrition coaching certification. very much underway with quite a few students signed up to that. And I know the next step for them and what a lot of fitness coaches are also, you know, really wanting help with is the implementation side of things and growing their business, especially in the online space. So yeah, very excited to have you on. And yeah, I'm gonna hand it back to you. Can you just let the audience know who you are and how the health coach GrowHub came to be.
So my name is James Fleming. I run a business called the Health Coach Growth Hub and that's focused on helping health coaches that are doing normally we help health coaches that are doing less than thirty five K a month. Typically work with people who have started already and have a bit of a social media following and are trying to get clients, but they just can't really crack the market, can't really work out how to run ads properly and get clients properly and really maximize client results and also client lifetime value so they're actually getting paid for their services. Because we see it all the time where people are just doing so many working with so many clients and they just feel burnt out, but they also feel like they're making no money.
Clients aren't getting results. Their churn rate is insane. So that's kind of what we help fix. And I didn't just kind of stumble into this, I guess. I've had a number of different businesses in the past, but we currently also run with me and my wife Michaela, we run a health coaching and nutrition business. at the moment as well. So we're not kind of just coaching coaches. We are doing this ourselves and we're taking the lessons that we've learnt in our own business and from helping all these other businesses. And then we're kind of helping all our all the clients that we work with on the health coach growth hub side of things.
Awesome. I love that. I'm sure people listening hearing you talk about the whole, you know, churn rate, so many clients doing so many hours still feel like they're not getting ahead financially. It it's such a common situation and especially in, you know, the health and fitness industry. So yeah, I'm sure people hearing you say that, they're already like, Okay, amazing. We're gonna we're gonna better start to to fix that and shift away from that. So In terms of um yeah, working with coaches, what did you kind of notice was missing for a lot of coaches when it did come to building their business?
Think I would say the two main things would be pricing issues and structure, I guess three main things. I guess pricing issues, structure of their services, and the third one would be marketing.
Mm. And so
I'll try and jump into them one at a time if I remember what I said. So the first thing I guess when it comes to pricing is I feel like people miss price based on where they're at. And I feel like a lot of people either price too high early on or too low when they've got a bit of experience. And so diving into that a bit deeper, when you first start, I just recommend just getting as many reps under your belt as possible.
