Awesome. Well, yeah, appreciate you taking the time out of your busy week this week to chat with us. Um yeah, really excited to get into More about your story and um your business as well. I'll hand that over to you. Do you mind just telling the audience a little bit about who you are, what you got you into fitness in the first place, and we'll go from there?
George Varvaressos 1:01
Cool. So um I had a bit of a different introduction into fitness as opposed to I think most people would. Most people I guess that start into fitness I guess, you know, they have a passion for it from a young age or they were quite athletic when they were young, whereas um I came from the other extreme. I was quite overweight when I was young. So um I always enjoyed sport. I played sport. I was very competitive and always enjoyed lifting training. Uh but I was always that sort of bigger, heavier said kid, which I guess stems back to that Greek background, you know, growing up around food, always surrounded around food. Um and yeah, I could never say no to my Yaya's cooking, my grandmother's cooking or mum's cooking.
George Varvaressos 1:36
So Yeah. Uh throughout school I got quite big and then um yeah it got to the point where I became quite obese uh by the time I became a young adult. And then I had a bit of a turning point where I realized I had to do something about it. You know, I was actually living some quite destructive habits as a as a young lad and um Yeah, from there I figured what's the first thing I can change about myself, you know, and you start with the body because it's the first thing that first of all doesn't have to cost you anything. Um, you know, it's something you can start doing straight away from implementing small habits and that's where I learnt the whole uh structure of building sustainable habits, not just for a quick fixed transformation, but for something that I wanted to sustain for the rest of my life.
George Varvaressos 2:15
And then I turned that passion of lifting into mine into then obviously uh starting to become educated in the fitness space. Um and then from there I throughout my own journey I managed to go from 150 kilos down to The lightest I got was my stage weight on the bodybuilding stage, which was eighty nine. Um so over sixty kilos lost. And um then yeah, I figured, well, why can't I help other people do this, you know, especially people that were in my position? And then from there it's just become a passion. And um since then, yeah, I went in business with my brother who had a very similar story with me. Um and yeah, we started Metamorph in twenty twenty four. Um so we haven't been doing it for that long, but um we've been quite yeah, we we've
George Varvaressos 2:56
nailed down exactly what we wanted to do and we became very clear on the type of person that we wanted to serve. So yeah, as a result of that we've had yeah, we've had some some good success recently with obviously the people that we've been able to reach out and help.
Bex 3:08
It's awesome. It's it's really cool to hear. Obviously Not that you had to go through that, but also that you were able to turn your struggles as a young kid into now what is your passion and be able to help so many other people with that.
