confirming it seized two sanctioned oil tankers linked to Venezuela in the North Atlantic and the Caribbean. The Trump administration had been pursuing one of those tankers, the Russian-flagged Bella 1, since last month, despite formal requests from Russia to stop pursuit.
First reaction that was just in from Moscow, no state has the right to use force against vessels duly registered in other states' jurisdictions. This all happening as Energy Secretary Chris Wright confirms the U.S. will be immediately taking 30 to 50 million barrels of sanctioned Venezuelan oil currently sitting in offshore floating storage and selling it.
