Chapter 1: What recent events sparked protests across the U.S.?
Anger home and abroad. I'm Paul Stevens, Fox News. Protests across the U.S. flaring up as many speak out against the fatal shooting last week where an ICE officer opened fire on a woman in Minneapolis. That's where Fox's Matt Finn is.
Rioters break into a Minneapolis hotel Friday night where they believe immigration agents are staying, tossing furniture and spray painting anti-ICE messages. Police declared an unlawful assembly.
At ICE's temporary headquarters outside of the city Saturday, a group of Democratic congresswomen, including Representative Ilhan Omar, alleged they were denied a full access tour of the detention facility.
What happened today is a blatant attempt to obstruct members of Congress from doing their oversight duties.
Ongoing tension in Minneapolis boiled over when an ICE agent shot to death 37-year-old Renee Good.
Meantime, Borders are Tom Holman on Fox News Sunday criticizing those who oppose ICE's basic mission.
The left wants to play this game that ICE, you know, they're not law enforcement officers. They are federal law enforcement officers. Impeding them and interfering with them is a crime.
DHS claims Renee Nicole Good tried to weaponize her vehicle. Protests continue to erupt across Iran, too, as the death toll rises. Fox's Madeline Rivera, more from D.C.
More than 2,000 people have been arrested. That's per the Human Rights Activist News Agency. President Trump has promised to intervene if the regime resorts to mass violence. An A-10 Warthog rolling down the strip along with F-15E Strike Eagles carrying out these strikes against ISIS. According to U.S. Central Command, the strikes were widespread across Syria. They included partner forces.
It's not clear if that means Syrian forces that the U.S. had partnered with against ISIS or Jordan.
And the targeting of ISIS in Syria, a response to the killing of two Iowa National Guard soldiers and their American interpreter weeks ago by a lone ISIS gunman. Gasoline prices falling about 10 cents over the past three weeks. New national average $2.89 a gallon. According to industry analyst Trilby Lundberg of the
Lundberg's survey... This price is 27 cents lower than it was just seven weeks ago. It's 45 cents lower than it was at its high point of last year, early April. Plus, versus last year, it's a 24-cent discount. The trouble is oil prices are up, and so this price decline might come to an end fairly quickly.
And Trilby Lundberg says recent turmoil in several oil-supplying nations could impact those gasoline prices that we pay at the bumps. NASA's excited, announcing that they're planning to roll out a mission to go back to the moon. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman telling Fox's My View with Laura Trilby.
We're going to use that mission to check out all of our systems. So the SLS vehicle, the boosters, the Orion spacecraft, the crew are going to undertake some manual piloting exercises. They're going to really put the vehicle through all of its paces.
