A teacher remains hospitalized after a school shooting in Texas.
A teacher from the Hill Country College Prep School in Bulverde, Texas, outside San Antonio, is still in the hospital after being shot by a student Monday. That 15-year-old student later died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Questions remain as to what motivated the student to do this, but investigators learned the child got the firearm from the home of a grandfather. The .357 Magnum revolver had been accessible inside the home. It's not clear if the grandfather knew the gun had been taken. The school remains closed but is expected to reopen next Tuesday. In Denver, students accused of plotting to kill a teacher, though not following through.
A 16-year-old Chatfield High School student left home with a plan and a 7-inch butcher knife taken from the kitchen at home. But after attending class with a teacher they allegedly planned to kill with a knife concealed in a backpack, apparently the plan changed. The student asked to speak to a counselor. And as the Jefferson County Sheriff tells the story, revealed what they'd planned to do, the knife was confiscated. The school resource officer called in. Now the student is under arrest and booked at the juvenile center on charges of carrying a weapon on school grounds. Fox's Therese Crowley.
