States of emergency are spreading. Lisa Brady, Fox News, with winter storm warnings stretching from New Mexico to the northeast and ice warnings from Arkansas to the Carolinas.
And that's going to be primarily for freezing rain and some sleet. And power in those areas could be out for days. I'm not kidding. This is a very serious situation. We could get up to an inch of ice on trees and power lines and they snap.
Fox Weather's Mike Seidel. Parts of the Northeast could get two feet of snow. Maryland Governor Wes Moore, among the many state officials, urging people to take the storm seriously.
Unless you have a serious emergency, plan to stay home starting tomorrow. Adjust your plans for Sunday and Monday now.
Today through Sunday, more than 3,000 flights already canceled.
Many airlines are already issuing travel waivers for flights that are traveling to or from airports that are going to be impacted by this winter storm. These waivers are allowing passengers to change their flights without occurring additional fees. Fox Business' Lydia.
at New Jersey's Newark Liberty Airport. At the largest airport in Minneapolis, police arresting anti-ICE demonstrators after airport officials say they overstepped a protest permit affecting airline operations. One of the groups organizing that protest saying about 100 clergy were arrested.
This as federal officials defend efforts to enforce immigration laws after school officials accused ICE of detaining a five-year-old boy and using him as bait.
The DNC and Democratic lawmakers quickly piled on those initial claims with Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar posting, don't tell us this is about the worst of the worst. That is a lie. Absolutely vile. And even when DHS tried to respond with what it says actually happened, Texas Congressman Joaquin Castro replied by calling the agency sick liars.
