Chapter 1: What protests are currently happening in Minnesota and why?
Protesters under investigation. I'm Sue Guzman, Fox News. U.S. troops are on standby as President Trump threatens to invoke the Insurrection Act to deal with protests in Minnesota. Fox's Steve Harrigan is in Minneapolis.
They're moving into churches as well as stores. Several dozen roared into a church screaming, ice out, ice out. They got in the face. of some parishioners who were there with their families screaming at them. They also moved into a Target store as well, a little less aggressive there, a sing-in, a sit-in, but once again shouting ICE out.
There was some violence over the weekend, some of the worst of it targeted for a right-wing influencer. He was beaten pretty severely, rescued by some counter-demonstrators.
The Justice Department has opened a civil rights investigation into the city's church incident. European countries threatening to retaliate after President Trump said he would put tariffs on them if there's no deal on Greenland.
Fox's Aisha Hosni. And his rhetoric is sending Europe into a frenzy. World leaders over there are actually divided on how to respond to the president. The French president, Emmanuel Macron, is calling on Brussels to use what they call the trade bazooka on us, which blocks the U.S. from accessing some EU markets.
But the prime minister of Norway is trying to de-escalate things, writing, Dear Donald, we believe we all should work to take this down. Trump responded with a jab, Considering your country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped eight wars plus, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of peace.
President Trump posting on Truth Social this morning, he had a very good telephone call with Secretary General Mark Rutte of NATO concerning Greenland. He says he's agreed to a meeting of the various parties in Davos, Switzerland during his trip this week. And the number of protesters killed in Iran reportedly now up to 16,500, according to Iranian doctors. America's listening to Fox News.
