Rodriguez, the interim president, just calling for oil industry reforms to allow greater foreign investment in Venezuela in her first State of the Union speech. Delivery companies are being taken to court, accused of depriving workers of tips in New York City.
Mayor Mamdani said a recent delivery app change to require leaving tips after checkout means workers have been hurt financially.
These companies effectively denied these workers more than $550 million in tips.
Mamdani said the city is suing one company, Motoclick, for violating city pay laws by stealing from workers. He adds other app companies have been warned.
New laws protecting workers will take effect on January 26th of this year and that those laws will be enforced.
