An intruder killed at the president's home. I'm Jack Callahan, Fox News. An armed man shot to death by local sheriff's deputies and Secret Service agents inside the gates at the president's Mar-a-Lago estate this morning. Fox's Gernal Scott reports.
The Moore County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina confirmed the man shot and killed at Mar-a-Lago was 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin. In a Facebook post, the sheriff's office said a relative of Martin's told the deputy at a local business that Martin was missing.
Federal authorities shortly after that told Moore County that Martin was being investigated in Florida before details of the incident at the Mar-a-Lago resort came out. The Moore County Sheriff's Office said it had, in its words, no prior history with Martin.

Reuters was able to verify video of a protest at an Iranian university, one of many that reportedly broke out over the weekend. The protests mark the 40th day of mourning for those killed by Iran's security forces. Iran is facing major pressure from the U.S. to make a deal over its nuclear program. President Trump is considering a limited strike to force Iran to come to the negotiating table.
But there are questions over whether the U.S. has demanded Iran to stop enriching uranium entirely. The president insists the program must end, but Iran's foreign minister said last week the U.S. did not make that ask, and Iran's president maintains defiance.
Oman's foreign minister says the next round of talks between the U.S. and Iran will be Thursday in Geneva. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to head to Israel later this week to discuss with them the ongoing Iranian negotiations. costing more to fill up your car, according to oil industry analyst Trilby Lundberg.
Gasoline prices rose another six cents, same as in the prior two weeks, and the new price is $3.02.
Gas is 16 cents cheaper than it was one year ago on average. The tension between the U.S. and Iran causing crude prices to jump. The cost of making gasoline is expected to rise next month because of new anti-smog regulations. Poll done for the New York Post shows Republicans leading early in California's governor's race.
Former Fox News host Steve Hilton drawing 17% in that poll, followed by Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco at 14%. On the Democrat side, Congressman Eric Swalwell posting at 14%, and former Congressman Katie Porter at 12, with billionaire Tom Steyer at 9. I'm Jack Callahan, and this is Fox News.
