Well, welcome back to Fully Alive, where we are unlocking the secrets to your healthier, happier, and longer life. Today's episode is a fascinating one because we're stepping into a part of the longevity conversation that sounds almost too good to be true, but it is grounded in real science and a very unexpected discovery. My guest today is Chris Burris, the founder and CEO of My Vital C, and the author of a book called Live Longer and better. And Chris didn't come from a traditional health or medical background. In fact, his journey started in material science. But along the way he became deeply involved in one of the most intriguing compounds in the longevity space today, a molecule called ESS60.
Some of you may have heard of C60, and this is a another version of that compound that is safe for human consumption. Early in his research, uh, this molecule was associated with a dramatic extension of lifespan and animal studies. But since then, Chris has been on a mission to understand its potential, share that science, and really help people think differently about aging, oxidative stress, and what might actually be possible when it comes to extending our health span. Chris brings a unique combination of curiosity, persistence, and a willingness to challenge conventional thinking. And I think you're going to find this conversation both thought-provoking, but also surprisingly practical. So let's dive into our conversation today with Chris Burrows.
Well, Chris, thank you so much for being with us today. Uh I'm, you know, so excited for this conversation. For myself personally, I'm a big fan of the work that you're doing and the products that you're creating personally. And so I'm I'm excited for my own uh benefits, but also just for our audience to get to hear from you and learn from you. So thank you so much for being here with us today.
Uh Zach, thank you so much for having me. I'm excited. I love to come on a a podcast and get super geeky and then make sure everybody understands the super geekiness and share this research behind this amazing molecule.
Yeah. So I'd love to just start with your own personal journey a little bit, if we could. So It's always intriguing to me, you know, how did people end up where they ended up? And you're doing something that's very unique and studying a molecule that's not really broadly known. And I'm sure our our listeners are gonna be introduced to that here in a minute. But can you kind of take us back and help us understand how did you end up where you are? You said you've been studying this since nineteen ninety one, which was twenty plus years before it actually became sort of known in the in the the mainstream or biohacking culture. So you've been at this for a long time. How did how did you d end up there?
Yeah. So when you think about people who are typically in the health space or, you know, supplement space or even even just delivering wellness to people, health and wellness to people, there's often this kind of pain to passion story. And part of me is envious of those and then the other part is very glad I didn't have the pain part. I see I think I should certainly have the passion part.
