Now, we'll get to our story very soon, but let's just make sure we're as settled as can be by grounding ourselves in the moment and practicing some gratitude. Start by slowing your breathing, even if it's just by a small margin. This begins to signal to your brain
that
it's time to rest. Now, briefly trace your memory back over the events of the day just gone. Whatever happened today, there will have been moments in which you felt a sense of joy, contentment, or gratitude. Perhaps all three rolled into one. So think about the day just gone and try to pick out a moment that you feel grateful to have experienced. Maybe it was your morning coffee or a delicious home-cooked meal. Perhaps it was a passing smile with a stranger, or a friendly message received from a colleague, a friend or a loved one. Maybe you're grateful for the weather that came today. Perhaps for the work you were able to do,
and
the sense of accomplishment you felt. We in this community come from many different walks of life, so the moment you pick out may well be completely unique to you, and I'm happy that you've had a chance to remind yourself of that positive moment. Every day,
there
will always be reasons to feel grateful. Sometimes, we just need to make that conscious effort to acknowledge those moments. Now you're starting to settle more and more, making your way towards sleep. I invite you to imagine a beautiful night sky above a snowy landscape. Here, so far north, you have the most wonderful view of the stars. And this is where our story begins.
Tonight's tour departs from the hamlet of Igloolik in the far north of Canada.
