What is the opening introduction and who are the guests on this bonus episode?

Abbie Chatfield 0:00
It's a lot is recorded on Gadigal Land. We pay our respects to the traditional custodians of this land and to elders past and present. We also would love to extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Road Islander people listening today and remind you all that sovereignty was never ceded and it always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
Abbie Chatfield 0:23
It's a lot, isn't it? Everyone, I'm here with the incredible, wise, beautiful Granny Bingo, Maureen and Edith. How are we going?
Edith 0:34
Very good. Thank you, Abby. It's an absolute pleasure to be here.
Abbie Chatfield 0:38
It's a pleasure for me as well. Um, we're here doing a nightmare feel, but we thought while we have you two women of a certain age. I'm not sure what the ages are. Neither are we. Yep. Can't remember. Um, but I thought ask you for some advice.
Edith 0:54
Here. So I just think maybe a little bit of a style would be nice. Flat flat can be okay. So not so not for
Abbie Chatfield 1:01
me. Oh, so not for me. Oh
Edith 1:03
sorry. I
Abbie Chatfield 1:04
was gonna say also flat can be okay from you two.
Edith 1:06
Yeah, yeah.
Maureen 1:08
When you're younger. Yeah, when you're younger. And I I will say this might be a bit hypocritical, but uh the blue eyeshadow. I mean, the only problem with blue eyeshadow is that people wear it. That's right. Yeah. And so why do you decide to wear it? Because that's the only colour I get. Yeah. Right.
Edith 1:24
We buy the palette, I get I take all the nice colours, and then I give Maureen the blue. But now it looks lovely on you.
Abbie Chatfield 1:30
Thank you. Thank you both so much. Um we'll move on swiftly then. Other people's advice, right. Yeah, so we get emailed advice questions every so often. And you know, we don't do advice on the podcast. So I just thought it'd be good while I have you here to get your stage with you. I think that's a lovely idea. Okay, so Maureen and Edith. Why don't you do advice on the podcast? Ah, got enough on. Yeah. We should we might do we might do it down the line. This is kind of a tester. Oh really?
Edith 1:53
All right. Let experiment with us. We'll be back weekly.
Abbie Chatfield 1:57
Let's see. Okay, so you do advice weekly. Oh yeah,
Edith 1:59
we love to.
Abbie Chatfield 2:01
I give people advice when they don't even ask for it. Okay. Amazing. Well well, evidently. So let's start with first question. How do I start dating as a man hater? I'm happy, single, but I also don't want to die alone.
Edith 2:14
Get a dog, I think, is a good start. Yep. Well uh as a man hater. I mean, maybe that's your problem, love. Men aren't that bad, really. I mean, uh, our husbands, uh Don and Ron, uh they uh they uh are wonderful men, we haven't seen them in in decades. They uh live together in Dalesford and run an antique store uh in a little one-bedroom house.
Maureen 2:40
Edie and I hadn't spoken to each other for about seventeen years. We had a falling out over a roast chicken. And uh we finally I married R uh Don Ron and she was married to Don Baile. And uh and Ron said, Well, why don't you just get back together, have have two? We went to the pokies and uh Edie and I went off, finished dinner, we went and had a bit of a poke through a bit of manayen and uh Ron and Don you know, they were watching the races and having a beer and we haven't seen them since.
Edith 3:09
No, they've just they've they have I think the word is eloped. Oh
Abbie Chatfield 3:14
I'm happy for them.
Edith 3:15
I'm not. But you know
Abbie Chatfield 3:17
But you two have each
Edith 3:18
other. We have each other, they've got each other, and maybe that's what our our listener needs to do is find a bloke that's a fan of Danny Minogue, if you know what I mean. That's lovely. Next
Abbie Chatfield 3:30
question is, I hate the incompetent men that I have to work with.

How do Edith and Maureen give beauty and makeup advice (blue eyeshadow, perfume, etc.)?

Abbie Chatfield 3:33
What do I do?
Edith 3:35
Well, there's not much you can do. I mean, all men are incompetent. You've got to f firstly accept that. And uh and unfortunately men run the world. It's just a fact of life. Um what what else could you do?
Maureen 3:48
Incompetent men, well you did that the well I mean Ron was incompetent. He wouldn't know how to wash a dish to save his life, you know. And so I just took advantage of that for the first few years. We were married for seven years before Don and Ron went off. And uh well I used to just have a a secret card, my own checkbook to his account. And they don't look. They don't look I mean, I've got friends who have been taking their husband's money en masse for decades, and it's not until maybe eighty that you know that he's going into a retirement home.
