You just – your salary cap gets out of balance. And once your salary cap's out of balance, that's the quick road to the dung heap. You know what I mean? And Wayne knows that better than anybody. People got to understand he survived in the game for this long because he understands that. You can't be spending that much money in that part of your – and hope that it balances out and you get it all right everywhere else. It just can't happen. But for the Bears, it's a great buy. He's on 1-1 at the moment, maybe 1-2, roughly around that amount.
They've said they'll come out and they'll match that. But they've also said that they can go a bit higher. There'll be third parties over there. He will immediately be the face of the club once he goes there. So the third-party money that's available will go to them. The Bears, let's remember too, the NRL who owned the Bears and changed the rules so the Bears could get an extra $200,000. Like that's fair, but anyway, that's another story. But the NRL changed the rules and allowed the Bears to access – Third money, third-party money for a marquee player. That will be Luttrell if they get him. That will go into the offer to Luttrell. So he will go over there and Pete Bedell, who I've got a pretty good idea who he's talking to, that the Bears are offering or willing to go as high as $1,700 for him, which will happen when the salary cap goes up with the new broadcast deal when it kicks into place in 2028.
So there's got to be money there for him. It's a smaller city. It's got a little bit of country town feel to it.
