And Kenty, yesterday's game between the Warriors and the Knights was absolute top shelf. Uh and yet unfortunately the discussion now is on the controversial ending and whether Tyson Frizzell should have been penalised. Yeah, look, that's where it's all gone. Uh but I don't think it discounts from what the game was. The game was just brilliant. It was uh I I just think it was a real advertisement for rugby league. Four tries, two tries each. Uh I think Klein I know there's a lot of controversy about his performance, but I thought he did a very, very good job of uh officiating the game.
Uh I think he deserves a rap for that actually. He uh he did get he did uh look, he then were incidents where both sides could claim he made mistakes. Okay. Um look you you early in the game Ponger got uh belted high. Uh he should have the the Warriors player should have been probably sent to the Sinbin minimum. Uh but he didn't. Uh then obviously late in the game the Frizzell incident with the the blocking or escorting, whatever you want to call it. The fact is uh Look, I think he got it wrong, but they'd been doing it to each other all game and Klein had been playing on. And I think in some ways it shows that the the modern player is so well coached, uh, and even well coached in that gamesmanship and the bending of the rules, uh, that they uh the it's hard to adjust when when the circumstances change a little bit.
Yeah. I remember years ago, this is gonna be a bit left field. I remember years ago, uh I think Jeff Fedick, it was General Zaragoza, he was fighting in a f and uh Richard Steele's a referee and early in the fight, one of them headbutted the other. And the referee came in because you can't headbutt in rep boxing, obviously. Said, hey, stop that. And then uh v Zaragoza headbutt of Fennec, and then Fennec headbutted him back and uh back and forth. And after two rounds, they just wouldn't stop headbutting each other. So the referee just said, you know what? That's what you want to do, go with him. From that moment on, he stopped he stopped uh basically breaking them up or warning them about it and let them go.
The next day Porozara goes, he couldn't put his cap on, uh because his head was that big it was been swollen so much. And this is where I think Klein had that same attitude. Client had that same attitude. You're doing it to each other. Uh and look, let's remember this is a game, it only had eight penalties in the game. And I only had two six against more. And we sit back and we wonder y why it was such a sp spectacular game to watch. And I think that went a l a long way towards it. Now there's no doubt he let some things happen that could have been penalised. Frizzel should have been penalised. That said uh who was it uh Laitua, was it who was Halasima. Oh Halasima. He dived a bit. Whether he Deliberately made for Frazel hoping he would get the penalty.
That's that's probably what Klein took into account. I think that hasn't been I haven't heard that anyway discussed by anybody. Uh but and players can do that. Players can see a player near uh uh uh uh where the ball might land, where the contest is going to be, and they will run into a player deliberately to try and uh suggest to the referee or con the referee into thinking that they've been taken out. Now Klein. I might have thought he deliberately did that, so deliberately took himself out of action, therefore didn't warrant a penalty. Uh we don't know because the referees aren't asked to explain their decisions. But I think it's a valid take from that that I haven't actually heard anywhere else from anybody.
In normal circumstances, yes, he should have been penalized. It should have been they would have been able to kick the goal fairly easily and send it into extra time. But I'm content with it. I I really am content with where it went. I know the Warriors fans are up in arms and uh already uh Cameron George, the the CEO, has written to the NRL for please explain.
