They've picked Matt King now as his replacement. Have they? Yeah, they've named him as a replacement. So good on the New South Wales Rugby League. Obviously, they knew it was coming. Look, I spoke to Dave Trotton some time back, and while he wouldn't confirm Laurie was resigning, I told him I knew Laurie was resigning, so I was trying to get a bit of a steer on where he was thinking for the next coach. And he named the usual suspects, which was King and Boyd Cordner. I don't think Brett White was the real hope, but respectfully, they mentioned him among the group. It was always out of Cordner and King. And King's done a very, very good job as an assistant. It's going to be really interesting. I'm not a big fan, as you know, of bringing in past players based on their playing performance as a coach.
I think King... Oh, yeah, I've got to give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm prepared to sit down. He wasn't an origin legend. He did play for New South Wales, but he wasn't somebody that was first name on the team sheet every time Blues selectors sat down. And second to that, he has had a background as an assistant coach for some time now at the Roosters.
