Look, I I'm not I don't like all these promotional rounds and all the rest of it and that's the problem. Yeah. But this this phone I just To me the the benchmark of the weekend was the Warriors. I just thought it was magnificent what they did. And it set the tone for the whole night. They came out, uh, they just had that look in their face as they're doing the Hukah. Uh and the Australian uh or the n the non uh Maori players at the back of the uh of the Hukka just uh embracing each other's arms, uh watching it on. It just was a really Poignant moment I thought of the weekend. Uh and I I sort of wondered over the weekend why the Aboriginal uh their war dance doesn't actually get come out probably now that the the the Warriors have done the hack, I I dare say there's probably a chance next year.
That said Uh, the Warriors are put in a fairly unique position, I suppose, where they are uh there's so many of them are are Kiwis that they um they have a quite a you know Well Lutrell used to do that in numbers. That fabulous one, you know, y that you see in the the highlights when everybody stood down and he just kinda stood up there at the end. Well yeah, and Greg English does one too. That's yeah, the same, yeah. So, uh but the thing about all yeah, look it's not there's there's no real sort of body of of of uh any sort of dominant Heritage I suppose in in any of the teams. So it might be hard to do if you only got three three or four uh yeah, indigenous players do they do they have enough there to do the dance?

Have you ever seen that Haka from the seventies from the the all blacks over in the England where they where they had no idea and they it'll end up like that. They soon learned that though, didn't they? Yeah. Very scary now. Uh, let's talk about Brian Tot all because news today that he has left Penrith at the end of next year and is going to the Papua New Guinea Chiefs as number six signing. Yeah, look it it's no surprise to me. The only surprise in it really was the timing of the announcement. Uh we all knew he was heading there. I didn't know he was negotiating uh r at this point, um, but but everybody expected it to happen. Everybody thought it was essentially a foregone conclusion that it was it was gonna be he would be at the trees in twenty twenty eight.

He grew up with Jerome Louis, their their best of friends. Uh Louis was his best man at his wedding as we know and they uh um Yeah, there's no doubt that Louis's been in his ear and told him of the opportunities that are there. So that that doesn't surprise anybody. Uh and good luck to him. He uh but it's uh it's the next it's the next chip in the in the penalty machine that's gone, isn't it? Mm. It's interesting that they've signed out two wingers. So if you where do Zach Lomax, I guess he's been promised to play in the centres. Well it's kinda hasn't worked for him before, but it's interesting, you know, you can't have too many good players, I guess, but No, no, Zach Morton ended up a fullback if he the way it's going.
Look Willie Peters, the coach, he's obviously just sitting there putting a squad together. One, he's gonna have a a lot of very good, talented, rep level players. And two, he's gonna have players he's gonna have depth in his squad. Uh which is i vitally important when you're a particularly an expansion team, but as the game is now and as we're seeing this year with all the injuries that uh this new expanded uh
