Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?

0.031 - 20.25 Kim Komando

This is amazing. Right after today's Daily Tech Update, I'm going to play for you a great clip from my nationally syndicated radio show. It's called, I know, The Kim Commander Show. Funny how that works. And hey, if you're not subscribed to it wherever you get your podcasts, what are you doing? You're missing out. You need this intel to live in today's world.

As a teacher or professor grading a stack of papers, or a department head or business owner swimming through rambling emails and reports, here are four dead giveaways that your students or employees are letting AI do most of their work. I'm Kim Commando for NetSuite. AI is definitely here, and companies using it are getting ahead.

Start with the M-dash, an overly long dash that's falling out of use, except for AI. Then tire generic openings like, in today's fast-paced world, or it's important to note.

61.517 - 84.985 Kim Komando

Next, AI metaphor overload, as in the rich tapestry or the ever-evolving landscape. And finally, AI loves to group things in threes, like clear, concise, and compelling. When you see these signs, you're probably seeing AI. Sign up for my free five-star rated newsletter right now at GetKim.com. And now, as promised, drumroll please.

Chapter 2: What are the four signs that indicate AI is writing?

85.726 - 103.512 Kim Komando

Okay, that was pretty lame. A clip from my weekend show, The Kim Commando Show. It's pretty much the best radio show in the world, but I may be just a little biased. Sit back and enjoy. In business, they say you can have better, cheaper, or faster, but you only get to pick two. What if you could have all three?

0

103.492 - 123.9 Kim Komando

That's exactly what Cohere, Thomson Reuters, and Specialized Bikes have since they upgraded to the next generation of the cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. OCI is the blazing fast platform for your infrastructure, database, application development, and AI needs, where you can run any workload in a high-performance environment and spend less than with other clouds. How's it faster?

0

124.161 - 151.107 Kim Komando

OCI block storage delivers more operations per second. Cheaper, up to 50% less for compute, 70% less for storage, and 80% less for networking. Better, in test after test, customers report lower latency and higher bandwidth versus other clouds. This is the cloud built for AI and all your biggest workloads. And right now, with zero commitment, try OCI for free. Just go to oracle.com slash Kim.

151.507 - 173.242 Kim Komando

That's oracle.com slash Kim, oracle.com slash Kim. Every business is asking the same question. How do we make AI work for us? The possibilities are endless and guessing is too risky, but sitting on the sidelines is not an option. Your competitors are already making their move. This is exactly the kind of solution I'd turn to. With NetSuite by Oracle, you can put AI to work today.

As the number one AI cloud ERP trusted by over 43,000 businesses, it brings your financials, inventory, commerce, HR, and CRM together into one single source of truth. That is what makes your AI smarter. It doesn't guess. It actually knows. It can intelligently automate tasks, deliver real insights, help you cut costs, and make AI-powered decisions fast. And this is not some add-on tool.

197.375 - 200.442 Kim Komando

It's AI built directly into the system that runs your business.

Chapter 3: How can you identify an overly long dash in AI writing?

First up, you can mirror your screen.

Chapter 4: What are common generic openings that suggest AI authorship?

224.942 - 241.768 Kim Komando

Turn your TV into this massive display for your photos, your Zoom calls, and presentations. Now, your smart TV can also double as a gaming hub. Just connect a controller, then you can use platforms like Xbox Cloud Gaming or Nvidia GeForce. And you don't even need a gaming console that way. Now, what about fitness?

0

241.748 - 248.558 Kim Komando

You can stream guided workouts from Nordic, Peloton, Apple Fitness Plus, and then suddenly your living room is a home gem.

0

Chapter 5: How does AI use metaphors in writing?

248.718 - 272.43 Kim Komando

No excuses for skipping weights or leg day anymore. Now, here's a bonus. Many smart TVs also let you use Bluetooth headphones or earbuds. So this way you can enjoy late night binge watching or your latest YouTube obsession without waking up the entire house. All right, it's happened to all of us. You're at the store and the cashier says, hey, do you want your receipt emailed?

0

Chapter 6: Why does AI prefer grouping ideas in threes?

272.53 - 293.467 Kim Komando

You're like, sure, but what really happens when you say yes? Well, you gave the store a way to track you, that's what. Your email gets linked to everything that you bought there and everywhere. So stores like Walgreens, CVS, and Kohl's use that info to build detailed customer profiles. Walgreens logs your purchases through its loyalty program and uses all that to push health-related offers.

0

294.068 - 299.677 Kim Komando

CVS shares your shopping behavior with its ad tech partners, according to Consumer Reports.

0

Chapter 7: What should you do when you spot signs of AI writing?

300.298 - 327.31 Kim Komando

Bed Bath & Beyond has used digital receipts to monitor what people browse and buy in the stores. Now, this kind of tracking is not illegal. It's buried all those privacy policies that none of us ever read, but it's a trade-off. You save some paper, especially at CVS. Wow, those receipts were so long. But you give up a bit of your privacy in return. Do you ever use the app OpenTable?

0

327.711 - 348.982 Kim Komando

Yeah, of course. I love OpenTable. Makes it so easy to get a reservation and now they have that notify me. So if the restaurant's fully committed, you can say notify and then you get obviously an alert if a table opens up. But here's what you don't know is that OpenTable is quietly tracking you like the NSA. Not just your favorite drink or how long you stay.

0

349.042 - 358.357 Kim Komando

They also track if you're a good tipper. How do they know? You're a late canceler. If you dine longer than the average person.

0

358.377 - 370.896 Unknown

I mean, obviously, they have your location when you get there and open the app. But how are they still tracking me after I close the app and I'm sitting down to eat?

0

371.686 - 397.379 Kim Komando

Afterwards, I'm sure they analyzed the receipt. AI is now involved in all this. Wow. They can say when you sat down during the reservation, when you left, because you do have it probably location services on. I was thinking, so what would they have about me? Right. Okay, here's what they would have about me. Takes the woman 10 minutes to tell you how she would like her salmon cooked.

397.759 - 422.881 Kim Komando

Oil only, not butter. Center cut, please. With a light dusting of blackened seasoning. And this is at Chili's, everybody, just so you know. Medium well. Two fresh lemons on the side. So you're difficult. It just says you're difficult. Okay, I would rather if they had strong opinions on fish and isn't afraid to scale up. Oh, goodness.

422.901 - 439.003 Kim Komando
