Why do Rob and Rich keep blaming technical delays on Memorial Day?

Rob Benedict 0:00
I remember we did that mop-up yesterday. Yes. I... You forgot to... Forgot to post it. Really? Yeah, so this morning. God, I'm so proud of us. We had... Yeah. Dammit. But I blame Memorial Day. Hey, hey, what's going on? Rob and Rich are the kings of con. So...
Rich Bates 0:26
We had another classic delay this morning. All at my fault. All at my fault. But I will also say the one technical thing that I can't figure out, Rob, and I always come to you as the IT guy. Basically, that's what this podcast has become. But there's no solve. It's the eternal hunt for...
Rob Benedict 0:47
Well, I try. You do? I think the record shows that I've put a lot of shoe leather into it. I've gotten some real... I one time made the mistake of reaching out to the whole band. That was a mistake. Because the band's a bunch of jerks. Because they gave you four different responses? No, because Norton just made fun of me. That's all he did. He didn't help. Right. Yeah. Yeah, Norton's going to make fun of you. Borja's going to say, you have a question about computers. I will defer to IT department. Borja gave the most... Borja, uh, response to something the other day that I'm going to call him out on, uh, on live radio. Um, he, he, uh, we weren't on live radio. Now we're on live radio. You weren't live with Borja on the radio. That's you got to get them up there. Uh, we had a text going around and, uh,
Rob Benedict 1:36
I said... I think it was a music festival that Hank forwarded to me. You guys should play this. Maybe an Echo Park thing or something. So I forwarded the band. I was like, would you guys be up for playing this? And Borah said, if I'm available, I might be able to do it. It was almost like a double negative. You know what I mean? What does that mean, though? It means, if I'm available... there might be a chance that maybe I could do it. It was just the most just like not yes, not no. It was like, there's a line in The Big Short, or I think it's called The Big Short, the movie with... The Robert Altman movie? No, no, no, no, no. Kevin Bacon. Kevin Bacon's a screenwriter.
Rich Bates 2:25
Yes. The big picture. The big picture. The big picture. The big picture. And Marty Short, Martin Short plays his. Dude, I know. He's one of my favorites. And he says, I've read half of these scripts almost all the way through, and I think you're perfect for him. Dude, my favorite is, I don't know you. I don't know your work. I think you're very talented. It's so funny. One of my favorite parts. That's what Borja's answer was. And you know this is improv, but Martin Short is sitting there having lunch with Kevin Bacon. And so I have to do it like I'm talking to you and we're facing each other. And then he just off camera goes, oh, no. Oh, no, no, no. Oh, no. Not right now. Not today. I'll call you later. But like it's hilarious.
Rob Benedict 3:15
That's funny. And you know it was improv because they didn't get him on camera saying it? No, no, no. It's on Martin Short. You know he's just making that up in the middle of the conversation. Oh, totally. Talking to Kevin Bacon and then just does something off camera. Totally, totally. You got to watch this documentary on him that's on Netflix right now. It is beautiful. Man, that guy's had a fucking journey. Dude, the loss he's experienced. Yeah. And you know, he had both of his parents died when he was young. I did not know that. His whole life. And his attitude towards life is like, you've got to, you know, life is short. So you've got to keep, you know, just keep the joy going. Like, he's just an amazing person. And, yeah, keeps just so much loss. I'm not going to give anything away because I hate it when people say, you've got to see this documentary and then tell you all about it. But please go see it, everybody. And, Richard, please, first of all, stop watching your trash movies.
Rob Benedict 4:10
With your wife. What trans movie should I watch with my wife? Me and J.C. finally sat down to watch TV. I told you, dummy. And we watched the most horrible movie. Was I a New York Jewish mother when we had this conversation? You would do a better me than that. That's sorry. No, that was your level of sort of like angry. Do me, though. Do me angry. You can do me angry. Come on.
