Please welcome Scott Ian. How are ya? I like the idea. I I did say like there should have been applause. Thank you. You have a new album out, which you were nice enough to give me a link to. And I want to tell you, I was like, Okay, I'm flying to New Orleans.
I am going to listen to this on the plane. And then I was like, Ah, I just listen to the first track. And then next thing you know, I just blew through the whole first side. Oh, cool. Which I I love. I was already te I texted you like five minutes later. Yeah. Yeah. Like the uh the long goodbye. Yeah. The uh one of my favorite pull-offs in the middle. Yeah. When you when guitar players like do pull offs as part of the rhythm. Right. You know, that's like that Glenn Tipton, KK Down. I grew up on the the double lead things. Upon. And um anyway, let's let me the the name of the album um is Curse Em Perf
Fecio. Fecio, I got it. Yes. We tried our hardest to confuse our fans as much as we could. Let's come up with a title that nobody can You know, we did ask a a writer guy that we know told us he said my friend's a professor of Latin at Columbia and uh so I could ask him the proper pronunciation. I said, Would you please? And uh and then the the story comes back. The guy said, Well, they're really We don't really know, obviously. He said perficio would be the more ancient pronunciation and then based on this guy's knowledge, Perficio would have been a more modern type of pronunciation. He said, But you could say it however you want 'cause nobody knows. All right. Well what w what is what does it mean? It means your journey is over.

Okay. So w uh well I noticed the lyrics were pretty uh were pretty heavy and uh you know, I was so busy. I I always I listened to an album like two hundred times before I ever listened to the lyrics and uh this is a nod to the lyrics 'cause they kept popping out like, What did that what did you just say? Right. What is this about? Because I always lock into you know, I listen to Charlie and I think, How the hell do you do that? Right. How do you still do that? Right. How is he so awesome? And then I then I listen to your guitars and I go, I wish I could do that. Is that Pulas? I do that like the first two hundred times and the like the the amount of songs that like now I'm just listening to and I'm going, like, is that what the fuck that is about?
But um As far as this album coming out, I was wondering like how you gu and this is somebody, you know, I'm fifty-eight, not a kid anymore. Right. What I love and respect about you guys is you guys have the same fire that you had, you know, and you know, that's that's a very rare thing where where it's like, you know, it's like a rocket. It a lot of people Right. Like um This album, like, in a great way, like punches you in the face, lets you know you guys a still have a lot to say and you're going to say it right now.

And I'm not gonna name any groups, but sometimes when you go see some groups remind you that you're gonna die and that mortality and then other people rem I always say this, they remind you to keep living. Yes. And keep learning. I agree. And Yeah, and and as I've gotten to know you over the years, you have a whole bunch of interests way beyond being a guitarist in one of the top bands of all time.
