Thank you so much for listening to the Neurodiverse Love Podcast. Hi Laura, it's great to see you again and thank you so much for joining me at the Neurodiverse Love Conference.
Laura Schreiner 1:05
Thanks, Mona, for having me. I'm honored to be here and it wasn't that long ago. That I was on the other side looking for resources myself. And so I'm I'm grateful to be here too. Thank you.
Mona Kay 1:18
Yeah, I know when I found out that I was in a neurodiverse marriage, that was twenty seventeen. It's hard to believe that it was really so long ago and there are a lot more resources out there. And that's one of the reasons that I do the Neurodiverse Love Podcast and I'm doing this conference because I want more people to have more resources at their fingertips. Yeah. So today we're gonna talk about, I think something that's really important and has probably been helpful for you on your journey, right? So three game changing realizations about yourself on your neurodiverse journey. So I'd love if I could start by asking you if you could come up with an umbrella statement of what you'd want neurodiverse couples and individuals to realize what would that be?
Laura Schreiner 2:09
So The biggest take home Is And wherever you're s at right now, for all the listeners out there. Is that like right here, right now. You are In the present moment. Of so much human value. And so much worth. By surely existing on our planet here. And I hope it doesn't sound like a woo out there too much of a That kind of a statement uh Байри боли да номате вот the trauma, no matter what situation. You're in with a spouse, um, family, loved ones, any part of stuckness that you're feeling right now, um If you recognize your inherent value, and I'm not even talking about like your achievements, your successes, how the roles you define yourself in, just playing being here, being present right here, just by existing.
Laura Schreiner 3:10
You are amazed balls. Amazing. Okay. Already amazing and like How does that sit with you right now? Like Mona, when was the last time someone told you you are amazing just by being?
Mona Kay 3:25
Um, I don't know that anybody's ever told me that. Um, but it felt so good when you said it. And and somatic work has been really important to me, Laura, over the last few years. So I really resonate with that because we tell ourselves so many negative things about ourselves and we tell our partners, unfortunately, when we don't understand each other's neurotypes, right?
Laura Schreiner 3:49
Right. Absolutely. And so I don't care what end you're on. Neurodiverse, not neurotypical, whatever definition, whatever you associate with. You're amazing. All right. So let that marinate for a while before and when you're in this whole process.
Unknown 4:08
All
Laura Schreiner 4:08
right. Because it's that's a foundation and if you keep that in mind that's gonna turn the dial just a little bit Into the Progress direction into the how you feel about yourself. Because as this journey goes on for you and your spouse and your loved ones and your family. When you realize and you embody
Unknown 4:32
Mm-hmm.
Laura Schreiner 4:32
That inherently you are awesome. Uh Everything starts to change. Your thoughts begin to change, your energy starts to change, your mood starts to change, your behaviors start to change. It's all that nice ripple effect. Okay. I don't want to Beat a dead horse here. You're amazing. Okay.
