But first, some NBA news and notes because it's official. The Chicago Bulls have hired Blazers interim coach Tiago Splitter as the franchise's new head coach. Splitter guided Portland to a 42-40 record and a postseason berth as the No. 7 seed in the West amid adversity stemming from the Chauncey Billups FBI charges. But Tom Dundon didn't want to pony up the money for Splitter, so he's going to Chicago. Dwight Jaynes says it's a three-year deal with a team option for a fourth season. Contract is believed to be worth around league average.

Kept the Blazers together after the weird start with Chauncey Billups. He's only got 81 games of regular season experience underneath his belt, but that's still a year more than most of the other candidates they were talking to.
