The Edmonton Oilers coming off a 4-3 victory last night against the Vegas Golden Knights.
They did it the hard way, to say the least. The Oilers finishing off a stretch six games. In nine days, in six different cities, in six different provinces and states. It started up with a game a week ago, Saturday past, when they beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-3. We then flew to Montreal right after the game, lost 4-1 on Sunday into Montreal. On Monday, flew to Pittsburgh, went to the Monday nighter. And then on Tuesday, the Oilers hammered the Penguins 6-3 as Leon Drysaddle crossed the 1,000-point plateau. Flew after the game Tuesday night into the hub, into Boston. You know they don't like it being called Beantown, by the way. Anyhow, the Oilers came away with a fairly impressive victory, all things considered, in Boston.
The game was Tristan Jari ended up getting hurt, and Calvin Pickard came in and played pretty well. Saturday, the Oilers played okay, lost 5-2. Didn't like a decision that was made late in the first period that sort of undid a 2-0 come-from-behind job from the Edmonton Oilers. But anyhow, yeah. And then they followed it up. We flew immediately after the game Saturday night into Edmonton. Got into Edmonton about 9 o'clock. And then the Oilers took on... the Vegas Golden Knights yesterday and skated away with a 4-3 victory. So it's been a busy stretch. Coming up on today's show, a recap of the two games. We'll hear from Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Chris Knoblauch, Connor Ingram, who got the start yesterday, and Zach Hyman.
