When they made that deal and they got Isaac Howard back, a potential top six winger, I specifically stated it was my belief that the Oiders had somebody warming up in the bullpen. as a potential long term replacement to Sam O'Reilly. Maybe not a guy. That would be a top line guy. But maybe a guy that would be uh a fourth line guy or third line guy.
Well that guy is Owen Michaels. Kelly Larson, the order's director of development, he looked at Owen Michaels all the way back to you ready for this? He helped salvage his career. in the US H L help get him to Western Michigan. Where Michaels in the twenty four twenty five season was the MVP of the Frozen Four. He had a very pedestrian season in twenty five twenty six I gotta tell ya, I don't BS you man. I saw 'em skate with the Oilers last spring and was like Mm-hmm. I don't know. And then I saw him at development camp and said Somebody went and did some work this summer 'cause that guy is flying around. It does appear as though Owen Michaels is going to be in a lineup tomorrow for the Edmonton Winners.
