Yeah, yeah, for sure. Um let's just start with last night's game because it was such an exciting, exciting one. So many highlights to go over. I mean, before we get into the nitty gritty, what was your take on the game?

I can't remember. ever the oilers playing fanatical defensive hockey in September.

I uh this is like four including the rookie game, this is four games in a row. And every like w no matter Uh what the talent's been like on the ice for the oilers. the effort has been off the charts and the defensive play has been extraordinary. Um it's it's remarkable. So I take that as a very, very interesting sign and a and a and a good sign. Um I mean The V Vancouver had its almost entire veteran lineup. Which is kind of a decade of darkness plus kind of veteran lineup.

But it's still an NHL lineup and the Oilers essentially had their farm team. And um They they d they didn't Vancouver had the edge in grade A shots, a slight edge. But in terms of the w uh the work rate and the give a crap meter Every shift almost, the Oilers outplayed the Vancouver Canucks. Uh it was remarkable. I it was i we'll see if it can continue. And we'll see if the you know, the more high priced and uh solidified veterans on the team are gonna buy in like the younger group has. But uh yeah, very

Encouraging. Um, how big of a night was it for Isaac Howard last night? You think about the first two games of the preseason, didn't get what he wanted. I wouldn't say he played terrible. It was just, you know, he slipped into a bit of a supporting role in those last two games, and then last night, a goal, an assist, and he looked phenomenal, looked very good on his feet. What's your take from his game?

Well his first games he had been um he'd been in a frenzy himself. He'd been charging around the ice but to no good effect. Last night he charged around the ice with purpose and he was very uh s very successful. In the first half of the game the Oilers had five grade A shots. He was a key person on all of them. Mm-hmm. And um the you know, that goal he scored uh from the outside was the kind of goal he can score and the the that few other players can score 'cause his big thing is is his outside shot. And, you know, if he's gonna be a successful NHLer he's gonna get five to ten goals like that each year. So gr yeah, I think it did wonders for his confidence when he when he when he put that one in. I think he was gonna he you know, he he after Matt Savoy's injury he was kind of

They're gonna play him and they wanna see what they have. But I think there was a lot of fans, including myself, who were trepidatious about him doing so because he hadn't played well. But last night he showed everyone no there uh what what people who watched him in Bakersfield saw all last year. There is a good player here.
