Yeah, for sure, of course. Uh lots of contracts being signed in the NHL right now and a lot of very, very interesting ones. We did see a a crazy one today. Noah Oslin with the Buffalo Sabres, an eight year fifty two point eight million dollar extension with Buffalo. I mean six point six million per season on the bet of the player that he is today. Uh what do you think Buffalo is expecting from him on that deal?
Yeah, I think that at the very least they're expecting second line production and I think this is a player that's shown in, you know, some short stints already that he has it in him. You go back to even just the playoffs. And you can't use a couple games as everything, especially because he did get injured and his time was even shortened, uh shorter than it should have been. But he revived their power play with this puck moving ability and I think in the regular season before that showed he could be such a spark and you know It's a bold bet, obviously. It's an unproven player. To give them an eight year deal at this value is huge. But we've seen teams operate like this before. You think of, you know, the Matias Samuelson contract years back and obviously that was Kevin Adams, not Yamou Kekalinen, but you know, the Josh Norris deals in in seasons past as well, and Dylan Cousins and not every single deal has aged perfectly.
But I like the idea of betting on RFA years and prime years and getting in below the radar and below what that player's likely projection will be because as it stands, Austin projects to be worth the value of that contract. And he hasn't even leveled up fully and developed into the best version of himself. So I it's a bold strategy. But for this team in particular that didn't go out and spend a ton this summer and let Alex Tuck walk to bet on their internal

Yeah, there was one guy I wanted to talk to you about, Villy Koivanen, and the contract that he signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins. I mean, uh the guys played thirty-nine games in the NHL and Pittsburgh gave him a nice long-term contract, uh, I believe somewhere in the thirty millions was the deal. But he uh that's that that's a lot of faith putting in that young man. I mean, uh you you looked at his analytics, what kind of what kind of player is he and and why did Pittsburgh put so much faith into him there?
Yeah, I think it's more about the dollars and cents than the term. And it's like tough to say because you look at those years attached to it and it's like, wow, what a commitment. But the reality is for a twenty three year old, even if these never gonna be better than a third liner, like that's a good contract for a third liner, four million dollar salary in today's NHL when you see, you know, players who are thirty one reach July first and get handed massive deals that go through the worst parts of their career to be French players.
