That is funny. I think the interesting thing about it is Jim Carrey, I believe, Noodles, you can correct me if I'm wrong on this, likes to be low profile, fly under the radar. He's not out and about. It was Pettersson. It was, and it probably still is based on potential.
So that's maybe where I look and go, again, maybe a change of scenery where ā I don't know why Carolina just keeps coming up in my mind with a guy like Pettersson. I don't know if he would be a fit or whatever, quieter market, just go play ā But I look at it, you're right. You can make a case for a ā Huberto, for me, the drop-off was ā obviously, it's attributed to the injury.
So I'm removing him. I'm looking at the three. You make a case for a nurse. I could still make a case for Riley just because of the number, seven and a half. And Morgan, you could still skate. Skating is ā obviously, you've got to be able to keep up in this league. Again, slotted properly, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
But I always ask the question, again, you can't because we're talking about contracts. Who would be the best? Who potentially could have the most upside? It might be Patterson if he could get his game back in order, but his game has been gone for a while, guys.
That's the problem. If they knew he could get his game back together, I'd reason with Vancouver would keep him. They need him. They don't have any help up the middle of the ice, none. So that's the problem is... they're all in different portions of their career. Pedersen's still mid to late 20s, but it's been such a massive fall-off. Huberto, now it's in the year three and there's injuries.
That's clearly fourth, and I don't think Calgary... I think he's just going to stick it out and play there. I don't know what they could possibly do. But, yeah, I mean, Riley, I do think there's... His skating is not what it was. He has slowed down, clearly. He's not as... powerful. He doesn't get up in the play anymore like he used to. Maybe that changes somewhere else.
Maybe it's a system thing. Maybe he knows I've got to defend better and he's just not capable of doing it and stopping him from jumping. I know that was an issue last year and Berube addressed it at times privately and publicly with him. But I think Riley actually could be higher on this list because of that. He's a veteran. You know what you're getting out of him.
That's kind of where I was going.
