We were sitting pretty close together yesterday in the auditorium or a couple of days ago, I should say, in the auditorium at TCO Performance Center. Nolan Teasley is the GM. What were your thoughts about his understated introductory press
conference? I was sitting next to our friend Alec Lewis from The Athletic, and this was before he started. I was like, you know, I've been here in town 27 years. You know how many of these I've sat through, like these introduction press conferences?

coach, an owner, a GM, what have you. I figure probably 50, right? And they all sort of sound the same. They say the same things. They, you know, have these platitudes. I enjoyed Nolan Teasley's press conference because it was so understated, so unassuming. He didn't try to win the press conference. He didn't try to sell us something. As I explained in my column, to me, he came across as a worker bee who wanted to just go back to the hive. Like, it was very... refreshing judd because you sat through these two right where you hear just these glowing um you know things and big words and we're gonna do this and we're gonna do that he just basically said um gave kind of short direct answers that i appreciated he looks like a very a guy who

John Schneider is more of a gregarious... I'm not saying he's out there telling you what he's going to do. But I mean, he's a guy that celebrates with the players when they win a Super Bowl. And I don't mean like goes in and pats backs. I mean, goes in and like slams beers. Schneider's a character. And I covered him for... a while when I was on the Packers beat. But that's what I'm going to go back to. And I actually have said this, but Nolan Teasley reminds me of a guy he didn't work for, but Schneider did very closely, Ted Thompson.

yeah. I covered Ted's first press conference when he got hired from the Seahawks to become the Packers GM. And he had been with the Packers. He had left and gone to Seattle. And when they made or when they demoted Mike Sherman as GM, Ted got the job. And Ted was, his press conference was the exact same way. Understated. He wasn't trying to, there was no double talk because he didn't talk long enough to have double talk. And that was the guy I'm like, if anybody, and look, I mean, Schneider was Ted's right-hand man for like four years.

from the time that Ted was hired in 05 by the Packers to the time that John left after 2009, it really reminded me of that. And what you wrote is exactly how it comes across. He wants to do football. Yeah. And Kevin O'Connell can be the out there. He can be the face. He can talk all he wants. But Nolan Teasley wants to do football and grind. And I don't think there's going to be any problems with time off from the Vikings when it comes to Nolan Teasley.
