All right. You you uh mentioned the fact that we were gonna talk about the NFC North, and I think it is worth mentioning that uh a couple of big injuries have already impacted Vikings foes. Yeah. Number one And this is big. So so a guy that we talked about, free agent from the Carolina Panthers, that we said would be a nice fit for the Vikings, Cade Mays. Ultimately went to Detroit. Three-year $25 million contract. You will recall that center was a huge issue for the Lions last season. Frank Ragnow retired in the in like June, and they never replaced him adequately. Well, Kate Cade Mays was that guy, but now he's not. He suffered a fracture to his small bone in his left wrist, and according to the Lions, will miss significant time.
Um his And if you know of this guy, you are a football junkie, which means Thor Wood. Seth McLaughlin, who was a UDFA in 2025 out of Ohio State, uh, who was signed in the winter time to a futures contract. I mean, these are guys that you give a look-see to and they probably end up on your practice squad. Well, unless the Lions make a move, I'm guessing that they won't. That is who is going to report. enormous blow. Yeah. Because you remember the Lions offensive line went from major strength to a real question mark. And it started at center, but it also extended outside of of there now Panay Sewell moving from the right tackle to the left tackle. But it all started in the middle. Lions thought the problem was solved.
Well guess what? The problem is not solved now.
Yeah, they can't you know so th you know, they've tried to figure out center for you know was it Ragnow that tried to come back uh Yeah, he failed his physical. So guys, I'm gonna come back. Okay, well let's do a quick workout. What's uh what's going on with your hamstring there? Why's your leg dangling
off the bone? What's Why is your leg just like dangling there? Are you on crutches? Is that a wind time or your leg?
Uh but with with the offensive line turning over last year in some key spots, the Lions, according to pro football focus, were twenty third in pass protection grade and you know the Jared Goff, not exactly the most mobile guy. Now they do a really good job of I mean he gets the ball out quick. They have a lot of sort of shorter average depth of target pass routes there. But yeah, it's just another year of dealing with some internal uh or inside offensive line position strife and then so I think I think Panay Sewell's gonna be fine, but that's a huge change as well.
