KOC's best trade as a coach is the culture and buy-in that he's built, and I feel like he's trying to spread excuse me, trying to thread a needle with the handling of these QBs that could completely unravel that culture. Anything short of a clear and obvious winner of the competition could lead to, if not a schism, then a slow burn dissolution of trust in the coach. Has KOC painted himself into a corner here with this situation, Thor?
Mm McQueen said it better than I I think I could have. That's that that is well said and and that's very true. Um he he and yes, I mean right now, absolutely. Can can he thread this needle uh in into and through August in a way that doesn't rip the locker room in half and then also arrives at the correct guy uh for the short term and long term of the future uh of the franchise. Um, it it's gonna be a wait and see. Th this is a bit of an unprecedented scenario. You know, as we've talked about with a a former top ten picket quarterback that was limited to ten appearances the first two seasons because of myriad injuries and and the fair durability question going forward, um the burden of proof is on him with that.
And then you bring in uh uh a a guy for the veteran minimum that's an objective top twenty start starting quarterback in the NFL, a situation that never happens either. And then it's like we're gonna have the guys compete, which you never see in the modern NFL either, uh a a true competition. Will it go into training camp? Oh, that's that would indicate that it's a real competition. So um but yeah, uh to McQueen's question, that's that is what it is. This is a very high degree of difficulty thing. It's not impossible, um, but this is this is a very complicated thing. Um And yeah, y you don't wanna you don't wanna cut the wrong wire here.
I would say though, just adding my thoughts on on to that, i if he is able to navigate this scenario and comes out with Everybody in like all parties feeling like they were treated fairly and well and everybody's contempt with how it turns out. That is pretty incredible and would be a a huge boost of confidence, at least that I have in KO C moving forward.
