Yeah, absolutely. Thank you to everybody that did leave comments or send in emails um over the past like twenty four forty eight at however many hours it's been uh it like I s we do this every week. But it it cannot be overstated how much it is appreciated and how good a lot of the questions are. And I've got a nice little fastball for you to start off the show today, Thor. It's from uh Jordan Tyler. And he writes in Frank Smith just answered the QB battle question. He was on Toron Armstead's uh podcast and was asked if the if this was a true QB competition. Rather than answer with a simple yes or I believe it is, he hesitated and then Proceeded to dance around the answer by talking about quote, we want to install things with everyone, type of you know, type of answer.
McCarthy uh he goes on to say, uh McCarthy will not be given a fair shot. And this is from Jordan, this is not from Frank Smith's answer. I want to preface that. Uh McCarthy will not be given a fair shot uh in his in this from what it sounds like, and this will once again be a Kirk Cousins mercenary, more extensive patch job. Here we go. In the land of almost and what ifs per usual. Why is this team afraid of failure? If it works with McCarthy, you have your guy. And if not, you have a high pick in a loaded class. But we would rather be safe. What is your reaction to uh to Jordan's? you know, br bringing up this uh this Frank Smith answer on a podcast.
So I I saw this and and first of all, thank you for the question. I I saw the the Frank Smith clip that he's alluding to. This was I think it was last week uh that this came out. I had pretty close to the same reaction uh to it that um uh that Jordan uh did uh in sending this question and I I thought it was sort of strange and We're today we're sitting here on Thursday, May twenty eighth, and it's one day after um people sort of got on JJ for a question uh that he got about like um the awkwardness thing and instead of just saying, No, it's not awkward and then j next question, um, you know, said this thing about the classroom, you know, and people are like, Well, why couldn't you give, you know, a a straight answer that's acceptable to us on that?
And you go to this one here, Frank Smith easily could have said, Well, yeah, that's what the head coach said. It's a fair competition. He did not say that. Uh, he sort of hemmed and hot around it. He he began, he sort of bottom sub that like for people that haven't seen it, you'd have to pull it up. But right after the and it was a very simple question that he was given. We've been you know, uh uh Kevin O'C it was something like, you know, Kevin O'Connell has said that this is a fair competition, or or this has been, you know, uh forwarded as a fair competition. Is this actually going to be a fair competition? So then Frank Smith for like 20 seconds sort of hems and haws about this thing of like, well, I was wondering how long it was going to take you to ask that question and and get around to what you actually wanted to talk about.
He sort of buys himself, you know, by by sort of making it into a joke. But then doesn't all he had to say was, Yeah, that's what the head coach said. It's a it's a fair competition. But instead, he goes into this longer explanation where he's sort of dancing around the question. And I I had sort of the same reaction of like if if you guys want to forward that this is a a true fair competition, I don't know that that's the response that I would have given um to dodge the qu it's a very simple question. Yes. Right. Um, and you can't have it both ways, you know, as well. Um, we we can't be sort of nitpicking all the the different quotations from the young quarterback, but then on the other side of it not doing the same with the coaching staff.
