You ready to get into this? Yeah, let's rock and roll, man. Let's do it. I'm going to let you kick it off with your modest proposal.
Okay, mine is simple. And I talked about this last week, but I talked about in the context of we didn't yet know who was going to have the job. So as we as it looks more and more as it did from the press release that came out on Monday, making this official, my modest proposal is very simple, because it looks like we're going back to a triangle of authority. It looks like you know, it was Brzezinski, it was Childress, it was Fran Foley, then Rick Spielman. Well, this time around, excuse me for a second, Barney, calm down. Bernie's

Don. But it's no triangle. He and Stella in charge. So to go back to my point. I think that what we are looking at is something very similar to what we saw in 2006. And my modest proposal is this. It's my opinion that the GM should have final say of the 53-man roster. Now, Teasley might, but I will just remind you that in 2006, we asked the question, who has control of the 53-man roster? And we were told, hey, it's going to be collaborative. It's going to be. And we hemmed and hawed and rope-a-doped on it. And it took him about four years to find out. And it's only because Childress, who was about to be fired, brought it up on a conference call with Lions reporters that he had final say. And so I'm curious.
if it's a parallel, does O'Connell now have that? I think it's very dangerous when a coach does because coach is going to make short-sighted decisions based on he needs to win now. So my modest proposal is actually very simple. Among all things in Nolan Teasley's contract, which I'm sure is a few pages, I'm hoping one thing is, one thing should be, he has control of the 53-man roster. You're taking input, But somebody at the end of the day has to make decisions. And I prefer on the 53 that that be your GM, not your coach.
