The Minnesota Vikings select. He's a longtime NFL draft expert who's been sweating Vikings football since the Randy Moss era. Welcome to Thor Tox Purple.
What's up and welcome into Thor Talks Purple. Thank goodness. It is Friday edition of Thor Talks Purple. We we promised yesterday that we were gonna talk about Ryan Grigson today. And so we should start the show off with that, AJ, shouldn't we?
Yeah, absolutely. It's a Warm hearted farewell to dear friend and departed colleague Ryan Greeks and um It's it was reported that uh there was going to be a parting of ways between Ryan Grigson and the Minnesota Vikings, uh, that he was leaving to pursue another opportunity in the NFL and now We know exactly what that is. Ryan Grigson is returning to the Cleveland Browns as a senior football advisor. Uh, first reported by Cleveland uh dot com's Mary Kay Cabot. Uh he held the position with the Browns from twenty from the twenty twenty-twenty one season, was a senior personnel executive in Cleveland in twenty seventeen. Uh, but this comes after I think a long tenure it it felt like a longer tenure than it probably was with the Vikings and uh you and our our our good friend Judd and a lot of other people in the score north world uh were kind of lamenting his potential staying with the new front office hires and whatnot.
But then we learned that uh he's on his way out now and heading back to Cleveland.
And yeah, bye, bye Ryan. Don't let the don't let the door hit you on the way out. The this guy, the the front offices that he has been with since the Colts and then having with the Colts it was as a GM and then an influential role with the Vikings in including with the draft. They've been some of the worst drafting organizations since his very first year with the Colts. The first year what happened was Grigson, he takes over that job and they happen to have the first overall pick in Andrew Luck's class. In anyone would have submitted the card with with Andrew Luck. And then uh the scouts that the Colts had at the time, I I give them a lot more credit for the re so that later on in that draft they got T.
Y. Hilton at ninety two. Um Um they got uh and a couple good tight ends, uh Dwayne Allen, Kobe Fleener. After that though, like the preceding years of the Colts, it got worse and worse and worse. It was just one draft miss after another.
