Um the one thing I wanted to ask you about There was a side-by-side comparison from some of these social media clips of the two quarterbacks throwing in the side-by-side highlighted something below the well uh below the waist in the in the sense of a uh a leg kick for Kyler Murray in a little bit more of a better mechanized, uh I I guess better fundamentally thrown ball by uh by JJ. But there was a big discourse online about a leg kick by Kyler Murray yesterday. What are your thoughts on uh just everything we've seen over the past 24 hours? hours.
First of all, awesome to see the boys in purple back out on the field. Oh man, it's you know, the the four months in between. And luckily, you know, with the NFL draft, it sort of satiates my football until then. But then you get out of the NFL draft and there was a couple weeks where I'm like, I'm looking at the sun and I'm like, bring me back football.
Why is the tight end position the Vikings’ #3 priority for the 2027 draft?
You know, and and so to see the boys back out there yesterday was was just great. And of course the the Vikings, they released uh, you know, highlight. uh clips and stuff like that. And so we started to have some fun last night um, you know, with with those. And and once Twitter put together the side by side clip that the Vikings have put out of Kyler Murray throwing and then JJ McCarthy throwing side by side. You saw that JJ McCarthy's leg kick was not there. He did a ton of work on the mechanics over the offseason, worked with John Beck right away, was down. In California. I was told by multiple people he is locked in, locked in and ready to go and got to work right away. Kyler Murray, a guy who has had leg kicks for years.
It's just his coaches didn't talk about them at the podium session when he was injured as a rookie for six weeks. He of course had his leg kick, uh, went with his throw. So a pretty striking side-by-side for Viking fans that had to listen to leg kick discourse for roughly half the fall last year. Uh and as I put on Twitter, well, well, well, how the leg kick turn tables here, um, if if you want to talk about quarterback leg kicks, you're not gonna be talking about JJ McCarthy today.
