It's a Monday edition of Thor Talks Purple, which means we're about to get to mock draft Monday, but before we do, we wanted to get into my official 53 man roster projections for the upcoming season. I had to get these things, AJ, I had to get these things on the book before we get to training camp. So we we we thought we'd unload the clip here.
Yeah, no, I I was We're in this sort of dead area where We're waiting for stuff to happen, but there's also a lot to talk about. So this is a great way to like survey the landscape, look ahead and uh get your predictions on the docket right now so we can evaluate it later. Before we really get into that though, can I get a hand check? Can we make sure all ten digits are there after the holiday weekend? Make sure there we go. All right. Hopefully everybody else had a good holiday weekend and a safe holiday weekend as well. Um, you know, let us know in the comments if you did anything super fun or if you Um maybe i if you're typing with nine fingers now instead of uh seventy-two hours ago, let us know as well and we'll we'll hopefully.
That would be a devastating injury in my life. Yeah, a typing injury there. But uh But either way, hey, um I'll pop this up. We'll run through it. Obviously for the audio only audience as well, but for the visual audience here, uh, we have like a graphic, a a chart of Thor's predictions, starting off with the quarterback position, Thor's projected fifty-three man roster, uh, keeping JJ McCarthy, Kyler Murray, Carson Wentz, and Max Brosmer missing uh missing the cut there for the QB's uh position.
Yeah, we we got a couple positions here that are pretty straightforward and are pretty chalky and this one uh would certainly qualify for that. I would also expect Max Brosmer to clear waivers and be added to the practice squad. And as I was telling I I might as well just mention this on air now, as I I was telling AJ when we were about to hop on, initially I I was gonna also do practice practice squad projections. Um but as I began that, you know, and and Brosmer certainly would have qualified, but as I as I began that, the Vikings depth, which we have talked about as being so bad at the bottom of the fifty three man roster You can kind of imagine when you stretch it to like closer to 70 for the practice squad.
I expect Nolan Teasley to be active at the bottom half of the fifty-three man roster, as I mentioned before, uh after August cuts. And I expect him to be very active as far as looking around, filling the practice squad um and and and swapping guys in and out to try to improve that depth without the mechanisms of free agency and the NFL draft. Which he will have obviously going forward, but uh he he this guy knows the lay of the land um as far as other rosters and players that he likes and stuff like that. So I I do expect a lot of movement there. So I I I thought I'd at least explain why I didn't do my practice squad projections because I think a lot's gonna change between here and now.
Yeah, there's gonna be so much like constant shaking and moving with that grouping to where it'd be I don't know, I think it'd be a little tough to request, Hey, pr not not only fifty three, give me your pr uh your practice squad prediction as well, because that's just gonna be back and forth, left and right, names shifting in and out. So uh but like you said. QB group, pretty, pretty straightforward. It feels very chalk. Um, and with that, I think we also have that with the running back group. You predicting that they keep uh Aaron Jones, Jordan Mace, and Damon Claiborne with Xavier Scott and Keijan Owens uh getting cut.
Yeah, an another chalky one here. And the only the only way I think this would change, you know, barring injury, of course, in in training camp, knock on wood, but outside of that would be um like a surprising trade.
