Hello and welcome into Thor Talks Purple. It's a Monday edition, and today we have a very special show for you. We are going to be talking about the top twenty five Vikings draft picks over the last thirty years. So we went back to nineteen ninety five to try to quantify this. AJ, are you ready to hop into the best Vikings picks of the last thirty years?
I'm looking forward to we know I I don't expect many of these picks to come over the last five ish. There's not many, spoiler alert. But I'm excited to see uh what what maybe cracks the top twenty five here. And I know uh just because uh uh you know, you you shared the list with me a little bit ago. I know there's an honorable mention, so I'll maybe throw that up on screen and I wanna get into these rankings right away.
Yeah, let we'll start with uh Teddy Bridgewater, who you could make you could make an argument for him to get onto this list. Obviously a bad um ending to his Vikings tenure there kind of spoiled that a little bit, but I I had to toss him onto the list for that reason. And y you'll notice we go up, there's not another quarterback on this list. So um shocker. Yeah, I mean Teddy w will put the honorable mention on him, um, and then we'll get into the top twenty five. Okay, perfect.
So Teddy Bridgewater, your honorable mention, but number twenty five, uh, just cracking that top twenty five.
Yeah, and this is this is from the very first year of this exercise, nineteen ninety-five, and the only member of the nineteen ninety-five class to to make this list, Jason Fisk, uh, who is sort of a forgotten Vikings draft pick, didn't do as much for the Vikings, but turned out to be a smash of a seventh round pick over his career, the the the career value that he ended up accruing there coming out of Stanford, ended up playing until two thousand and six. So added over a ten year career as a late seventh. seventh round pick, had to toss him onto the list uh for that reason.
Great value at two forty three. And then at tw uh at the number twenty four spot you crack outside of the top one hundred for a for a pick as well with uh Ray Edwards.
Yeah, Ray Edwards, uh sort of a forgotten Viking, but ended up having a a a good career for a a mid round pick there at a hundred and twenty seventh overall, was a fourth round pick back in uh two thousand and six, but carved out a a pretty good career, uh good enough to make uh this list here of the top twenty five picks the last thirty years.
