uh, before the first, uh, I, he says first trial, I assume that's an Aussie slang term for just like practice slash game. Um, but I think the spin here is from this decision, who is under the, like the biggest amount of pressure and tension, um, just for their future with the Vikings McCarthy or, uh, or Murray in terms of his career. And then O'Connell, I mean, if he gets the wrong choice, uh, it's probably going to spell a very hot seat for him this season.
If it's the most pressure amongst the three, I would take Kevin O'Connell. Because the other two, even if they go against them, they still have their long careers ahead of them, right? I mean, JJ, 23. Kyler, still only 28. Um, and so, you know, if the Vikings go a different direction with either of those other guys, I still expect them to start with other organizations, of course. So, um, the, the, I think the most pressure is on Kevin O'Connell. You get this thing wrong, this season goes wayward and, um, and you're probably going to be looking for a new job. So that's, I, I would say that it's, it's on Kevin O'Connell.
And let's, where would you rate like right now in terms of like training camp just started? zero being his, his seat is ice cold, like not, not threatened whatsoever. 10 is it's molten lava. It's hot. Like scalding hot. Where would you rate how hot his seat is currently before this QB decision?
I put it like, I put it like six and a half.
Okay. So, so you're so, so a wrong decision for you probably bumps it up to like an eight.
Well, minimum. Missing the playoffs puts it, if not a 10, right under that. And so, yeah, the importance of getting that decision right and, yeah, getting the team back into the playoffs and winning a playoff game. And the reason I – he's not on the hot seat right now. For sure.
