Transcription

Chapter 1: What topics are covered in the Five On It segment?

2.883 - 21.785

It's time for Five On It. Raheem Harrison-Rowdy. Bring you five topics on their minds today. On 104.3 The Score. I got five on it. Number one. In CBS Sports, Josh Edwards' latest mock draft, he has the Bears picking wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. from Indiana with the 25th pick.

0

22.446 - 40.417

On a scale of 1 to 10, on the newly created too-damn-early meter, trademarked, it's 25 too-damn-early for the Bears to add another receiver in the room. Bro, like 10 on the too damn early meter. This is the test, is it not, gentlemen? This is the test.

0

40.698 - 58.962

If you really go with your draft board and this and that, and there's a wide receiver who's the best player available, do you mean to tell me that's what you're going to do? How many receivers are you going to end up with here? Infinity by rule of position availability? How are you going to put that team together? Hmm?

0

58.942 - 73.161

You can have one of them set the edge like your old OC did when he weighed about $1.75 soaking wet. Is that how this works? Okay, maybe I'm a little traumatized. But no, this is the test. Number one, yes, it's too damn early, so I'd put it at a 10.

0

Chapter 2: What is the significance of the Too Damn Early meter for the Bears' draft?

73.481 - 100.761

Number two, it is the truest test. If your best player available at 25 is a receiver, do you do it? Do you? Do you? So first of all, shout out to the newly created Too Damn Early meter, which I... had a big news here a fresh chuckle at like your next high school event that you're gonna do play by play for yes two damn early meters well well i i'll say this on a scale of one to ten

0

101.686 - 121.929

I would say this is a six because if you believe that the best player on the board is a receiver and you stick to what you're talking about, and last I checked, DJ Moore is no longer on the team, they could take a receiver there and I'd be like, all right, y'all must know what you're doing because I had doubts when you drafted Luther Burton III when you did in the second round. I was wrong.

0

122.37 - 147.7

Luther Burton III made sense in the grand scheme of things. I will say this. If you take a receiver with number one, you better be getting to the quarterback. Whoever you take later better be getting to the quarterback. Or you're making him block on the line on the left side. Well, I'm just saying, like, I get best player available. You have a board. You rank the players.

0

147.981 - 172.238

But I also believe strongly in tiers. And in tiers, you have your blue chippers. You have the next guys. And so there could be a receiver there and there could be a defensive end there. And you might want to just take that defensive end. That would make it make sense, but I'm not for the sense making. You're a 10. I am go. Congratulations, by the way. First time for everything. I am Marshall.

0

172.399 - 199.031

I wrote down the number six as well. The Bears have two dependable wide receivers on their roster right now. We're not even sure what they're going to get out of Roma Dunze next year. I think Luther Burden is on the upswing, but you can't quite, you can't just assume that. So yeah, I'm going to, and yes, Ryan Poles, as he said, patted himself on the back. They took best player available.

199.051 - 210.583

They couldn't believe that Luther Burden was available where he was. So they took him. So I, yeah, I'm at a six. You know, it's too early, but not that much too early to think about.

210.563 - 234.991

That's kind of how I put it, put a look on it and said, yeah, I feel like it's too early because receiver, I know they have glaring needs on the defensive line, but I can't be mad at what I saw happen last year, both going for that receiver early and also waiting forever for a running back. And the running back thing worked out as well. No, I love it because it really does test the theory.

235.552 - 256.56

And Ryan Poles did bring it up. You guys saw what happened when we drafted Luther Birdie. Oh, yeah. And he was right to do so. Like, get your credit where it's due. But at the same time, okay, what if it happens again? What are you going to do then? Huh? Huh? Huh? And I've not forgotten about Khalif Raymond either. He is a receiver, but he's going to give you 200, 300 yards maybe. I don't know.

256.58 - 271.977

I feel like he's going to give us more in the media department, I feel like. Seems like a lot of these guys are. Yeah, I'm very excited to talk to them. Neville Gallimore, Garrett Bradbury, all these guys. You heard about Neville Gallimore's favorite player growing up being David Garrard? I did hear about this. Isn't that lovely?

Chapter 3: How does Illinois' Big Ten tournament loss impact their NCAA tournament chances?

942.28 - 964.433

Like you've got to make it unfortunate. You've got to force them. Do you see what I have to work with? Billy Donovan. But that's how you do it. You have to make sure that, like, for example, how many calf contusions can there be on a team? Now, the Jazz are a little more overt about it. Coach's decision, rest, coach's decision, and then a calf. Calf is the way in the NBA now.

0

964.673 - 991.744

You just go with calf and people will be like, oh, yeah, I get a calf. Can you imagine being Adam Silver? He's kind of just like, okay, okay. I see what's going on here. Changes will be made. Yeah, that's the way you do it. Yep, that's the way you do it. Number five. Seahawks defensive tackle Byron Murphy got married over the weekend and he had the Lombardi trophy present with him.

0

992.285 - 1014.518

What's the biggest flex you have seen when attending a wedding? I got to shoot a shotgun at clays and heels because there was no drinking, so then therefore we were trusted to fire guns. That was pretty neat. So was that the alternative to alcohol? I don't know. It's just, it was, it was a wedding where the religion of the bride and groom and the families was that they don't drink. Okay.

0

1014.538 - 1038.652

And so there was other stuff going on. And so I got to shoot clays with a shotgun and it was pretty fun and awesome. That's pretty sick. Yeah. I actually would take that over the alcohol any day. It was very satisfying and nobody got hurt. I don't know that I have a flex of any kind. Weddings are weddings. You know what? I'm not the one to ask. Why not? Nothing fun. What about an ice sculpture?

0

1039.293 - 1059.381

What about an oyster bar? Yeah, but those aren't really fun. Those are just kind of standard. Is that a flex? Oyster bar is a standard at the weddings you attend? Ice sculpture is a standard? I've been to more than one where that's been a thing. I'll take White Castle over that any day. Wow. Little Caesars was that when I was at recently in Detroit, which is pretty great. It's all good.

1059.963 - 1065.977

Wait a second. So what, what impressed you at a wedding? Babes.

1066.396 - 1088.809

i've been to weddings where there's like no ugly women and i was like this is amazing this is amazing it's like i was like you guys discriminate against people and no other people allow your wedding is like should i be happy to be in that's a good one should i be happy to be involved that's a flex all hot women at the wedding that's a flex i was just amazed actually it's like oh no ugly people

1089.38 - 1114.708

I don't know how to put this. Oh, no, go ahead and put it. I don't know if you guys are aware of this. I have a World Series ring. So I have been the biggest flex at a wedding. You brought the World Series ring out to the wedding? Look, the World Series ring I own is a special occasion. If you guys notice, I don't wear the ring. I don't have the ring. Because Jean hides it. No, no, she doesn't.

1114.768 - 1140.877

It's actually in a safe place in a bank. It's vaulted. Nobody can get to it. So, yes, I did take that to a wedding one time because it's a special occasion ring. It's all I use it for, for people who haven't seen it before. So, yeah, that's the best I could do. Damn, you were the flex at the wedding. I'd like to think so. I'd like to think so. Yeah. That is it for five on it.

Chapter 4: What are Tim Doyle's insights on the NCAA tournament predictions?

1939.469 - 1960.241

For them to reach the Elite Eight is plus 220. Mm-hmm. I think UConn is a bit overrated. They lost two out of three games to St. John's. When you really look at their roster, maybe you can find one pro in Mullins, but the rest of their team is just okay. I think Michigan State, led by Joliet's own Jeremy Fears, I think that they're going to be really tough.

0

1960.341 - 1978.172

I have Michigan State in the Final Four, Florida, Arizona, to your point, guys. And then I have Iowa State coming out of the Midwest. I know that Michigan is number one in that bracket, but anybody who's watched Michigan the last five games, they're 0-5 against the spread. They looked very beatable, obviously, in Chicago, multiple games.

0

1978.192 - 1997.744

So I think Iowa State, they finally have the offense to balance their defense. But yeah, unfortunately, to your point before, it's just going to be a lot of ones, a lot of twos, maybe a three in Michigan State. Tim Doyle, always bringing the fun, the knowledge, the minivan talk, and a Gibson's reference. Love a good minivan. I think we hit bingo. Yeah, we've got to do this again sometime.

0

1997.784 - 2018.455

But you can look for Tim. What's your first assignment regarding all of this? You've got TNT and CBS. Thank you. Yes, I'm going to be on the March Madness Live app Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I'm going to be hosting alongside Seth Davis, Tony Delk, Randolph Childress. So we're going to have all the action there. Download the March Madness Live app. It's free.

2018.495 - 2039.227

We're going to be going live to games. I obviously will be gambling on all the games. Yes, it may be hard to find double-digit seeds that win, but, man, I hope they can cover Marshall because I'm going to be taking some dogs in these games. Hofstra, Aiden Holloway just got arrested for marijuana in Alabama. A pound. A pound of marijuana they found.

2039.247 - 2061.113

So, yeah, you might want to take Hofstra in that one if the spread hasn't already been. That actually sounds like a Saturday night for me. Yeah, it's legal now in Illinois. Yeah. Tim Doyle telling you his plans and what his vices are. We'll do a dispensary tour next time. Thanks, Tim. You can find Tim Doyle on X as well. He is at TimDoyle000. Always thank him for coming on.

2061.153 - 2089.031

We'll probably bug him throughout this tournament. Thanks, Tim. Thanks. Hey, speaking of things that Tim alluded to, Bears in Indiana, over the weekend, just in case you missed it, we may have an actual deadline that is coming up soon. Like how soon? In less than two weeks. And it's not from us. The mayor of Arlington Heights brought it up. So we'll talk about that next. Rahimi Harrison-Grody.

2089.092 - 2112.604

That sounds so crazy. 104.3 the score. Wow, I like that. Middays 10 to 2 on 104.3 the score. This is Rahimi Harrison-Grote on 104.3 The Score. I mentioned the stadium discussion. That is coming up at 125. So this segment after the next one, we're going to talk to Chris Rose at one. And in the meantime, we have a bit of a countdown here.

2113.085 - 2133.741

We didn't mean for it to happen, but Marshall brought it up because he keeps track of these things. We are exactly 10 days away from opening day. It feels like it should be further out, right? It's the snow that's getting me. Not that the snow doesn't happen on opening day here. That's true. But just it doesn't put you in the right type of mood. So here was the question we came up with backstage.
