What is the main focus of the Cubs' recent success?
happy monday everybody as we welcome you into rahimi harris and grody on 104.3 the score what a day we have planned for you on a monday along with marshall harris i am mark grody it is today it's a huge We'll be right back. That is where you literally call the score. Again, 3-1-2-6-44-67-67. And you tell us a player that you are interested in knowing more about in the draft. Who's your guy? Who's the guy that you want to know more about? And Marshall and I will tell you everything we can thanks to the beast and Dane Brugler and the athletic and the sound of the beast. You know what I'm saying? So that's coming up at 11. Are you pumped up, Marshall Harris? You look like you're pumped up.
What I love about this specific exercise that we do during draft week as Ray brings in the full in-print edition of The Beast by Dane Brugler.
He's holding it up like a priest on a Sunday mass right now.
What I love about this is that this fulfills our... educational element to the show, right? Because we educate people all week on guys they may not have heard of. Helps us, too. Yeah, and it helps us get familiar with the idea that just because a guy isn't a first-rounder doesn't mean he can't be an impact player. The beast fell flat. I got it right. Don't worry about it. I'll hold up the beast.
Look at that beast. Hey, how you doing, guy? You look good.
And so... I just appreciate all the people who called in. Last year was my first time going through Who's Your Guy? And I was like, this is fun because I am learning on the fly here. And I feel like a lot of times they'll tell you who their guy is, and they want everybody else to know, this is my guy. He should be your guy too.
Right. There might be people that – it happens every year. There are multiple people that we probably will not have heard of that people are interested in because maybe they went to your college. But let's keep it serious here. You've got to have somebody who has the potential to – to be drafted. But that's going to be a blast. That's coming up at 11 o'clock this morning. While I'm talking about the Bears, I have been told that the following Chicago Bears will be speaking at Hallis Hall today. Caleb Williams will talk. Kobe Bryant will be front and center. Cole Komet, our guy here on 104.3 The Score, big FM guy, Cole Komet, will be at the lectern today. Also gracing the grounds of Hallis Hall today and the microphone inside Hallis Hall will be one Garrett Bradbury.
A little bit after... Very soon, actually. It's a little bit after 10 o'clock right now. That's right. That's when we do this show. So the Bears will be speaking soon. We will turn that around as quickly as possible. And we'll also have Dan Wiederer, who is out at the hall today at 1 o'clock. As I told you, Russ Dorsey at 1225 as well. But one weekend for the Chicago Cubs, they gave you, this is what I call a card. calmer of a five game winning streak. I admit it. I'm a raging bull. I ride the roller coaster of baseball and I am unapologetic about it. That's right. No hands, Ray. Sitting in the front cart. I am for it. It's not for everybody. Listen at your own risk. I understand all that, but this is a good part right
Now, the roller coaster is good. I got right to the front of the line, had my fast pass. I'm buckled in. I'm taking two or three rides on it after a sweep by the Cubs and a five-game winning streak. And inside these games, there were all sorts of good things from players, from managers. Friday, an absolute blowout of the Mets, 12-4. I thought Edward Cabrera could have been a little bit better that day, but that's another thing. He's your ace, Mark. He's got to be better. I have a higher expectation of Edward Cabrera. He goes six innings, allowed three runs and eight hits, struck out four, walked a couple. Still, that .238 ERA does not go out of style. I do want more from Edward Cabrera. I just have high standards for him.
Mo Baller hit a three-run homerun in that game. A nice 4-2 win over the Mets on Saturday, starring Carson Kelly. And then yesterday, the Cubs 2-1 win over the Mets.
