Unfortunately, he had to reschedule, so we are awaiting his arrival now here on the show. And in the meantime, we opened up our show talking about how we looked back at the season in review. We left off with the game where you saw Ben Johnson in his bag, the game where you saw D.A. in his bag, Dennis Allen, and her favorite Bears special teams moment. And then we got into a bunch of onside kick talk because to have two onside kicks in the same season, kind of rare. One against the Bears in the Bengals game and then one for the Bears in the Packers game.
I'd call it unfortunate because you never want to be that team that's relying on an onside kick. Also, you never want to be the team that's giving up the onside kick. Those are two things that you don't want to happen in a typical season. Now, look, the Bears would not be where they are without those things happening because they would not have been the two seed. They wouldn't have ended up playing the teams they played in the playoffs. May they lose in the first round to the Rams in the wildcard round. Yeah, there's a lot that happens. I just love the butterfly effect of it all. When you look back at all the crazy things that happened over the course of the Bears season, and there's several times where I'm like, if that hadn't have happened, how different would this have been?

And that's how you get to where you are currently in life. And there's going to be more of that as you keep going forward. It's like, how do you deal with it?
How did the Bears utilize onside kicks this season?
I think good teams make it make sense. And bad teams, we end up talking about it as something that scars us for life. And then we hinge on it and give it names, like kick six, famously in college football, taking down Alabama and Auburn. And Auburn ended up being victorious.

Like, if I'm a fan of a college football team, it is Illinois. And there's only been intermittent years where the Bears, the Illini were good. And they were, unfortunately, for many years, they were a joke. And same with Northwestern. Bears fit that same category that you just said.
