Underworld.
For generations, a secret war has raged between vampires and lycans, an ancient species of werewolves. After years of fighting between two enemy races, the vampires have gained the upper hand following the death of the lycan leader Lucian, played by Michael Sheen.
at the hands of a vampire named craven who became the second in command to the vampires after the death illusion the lichen scattered without a leader it has been 600 years since that night since then the lichens have evolved and can now change into werewolves at will without the need for a full moon
night we follow celine played by kate beckinsale a member of an elite group of vampire assassins known as the death dealers already man just the coolness factors dripping off the screen it's so edgelord Seeks revenge against the Lycans who murdered her parents when she was a child. Her orders are to hunt down the Lycans and kill them.
Lycans have developed ultraviolet ammunition to kill the vampires. Vampires use silver rounds to stop the Lycans from shapeshifting into werewolves. Already such interesting lore that kind of puts away some of the hindrances that you could find with like the lichen. Like, oh, they can transform without moonlight now. Cool. Believable. They probably like harnessed it, practiced it.
You know, vampires doing the vampire thing. They got silver rounds, lichens, you know, trying to match. It's like a war. Like an actual war. It's like this person develops technology. The other person can develop technology. So Lycans have those ultra violent ammunition rounds now. So it's all right. I'm like, this is cool.
We're already like upgrading, getting rid of some of the lore that could be a hindrance here. We're upgrading to a modern age of like Lycans and vampires. Yeah, I'm for it.

Chapter 2: How do the vampires and Lycans differ in their abilities?
During a clash with the Lycans, Selene discovers they're seeking a medical student named Michael Corvin, played by Scott Speedman. In the clash, a vampire named Rigol is killed while Nathaniel is lost in the railway tunnels. Selene returns to the Coven to ask for help.
I like this fight because the vampire is like a hissing cat and the werewolf is like a brutal gray wolf. It was like, here's a small kitten and here's a wild, enormous gray wolf.
and so sometimes you just see the power disparity with the vampires like they need their tools they gotta have their tools to fight because if it was just straight up brawn on brawn werewolves hurt like it does feel level like you said the battle does feel like they one-up each other when they develop things or whatever but this fight was ridiculous it was just okay he's done for he's like hissing i'm gonna fight you gone instantly yeah yeah you can't just take him on like head on like that
yeah it did kind of show the the vampires is kind of useless without their tools just like oh damn as soon as they lose their guns this is over with and then you see that the scales start to tip back towards the end of the movie with some of the other characters you see but it was still like i mean vampires are they're still cooler than that come on
yeah it's and also you got um kevin grievix which i think was one of the writers he plays raised you got that cool transformation it's it's more cgs so it's not like prosthetics like american werewolf in london but i feel like they pull from that the way it shows this transformation it's not coming out everything like that and that man's voice is so damn deep dude it's so deep it's it doesn't sound real not at all it doesn't
It takes you out of it for a second. It's like, whoa, that's his voice. All right. Selene returns to the coven to ask for help. Craven refuses to support Selene, saying that the awakening, the three elders take turns being awake while the other two sleep so that no one else leads the coven at any time is near. And the coven is already in a state of uncertainty.
Erica is a vampire courtesan who desires Craven's favor. Con is the vampire scientist who says it is unlikely that a lichen den of that size exists as they have been hunted to the brink of extinction.
This is where I began my drinking game of drink every time she says Victor. And by the end, I was dead.
