get to the start line really in one piece I'm not that tricky space where I'm trying to lose the last few pounds I can before carb loading the crap out of it so yeah so look there's loads of lads running loads of people running with me throughout the whole thing and then in the afternoon then Geordie Lewis himself Leon Lloyd and Mitch Reid are in in the afternoon so I get to spend an afternoon with them so looking forward to that as well
As someone who's quite obviously never done a marathon before, when does the good fun of the carb loading really start?
uh probably tonight i think uh or first thing tomorrow morning so kind of 48 hours beforehand so um yeah and then uh it's just making sure that kind of you take all the gels and all that kind of stuff and there's a load of stuff that goes into it that you don't even realize uh when you start it and i kind of found out the hard way between blisters on feet and all that kind of crap so um But yeah, look, it'll be good fun. There's loads of different people running at different stages. So looking forward to it and just kind of get it done. One and done, I say. So just get out there, get running. And the big thing is I won't be stopping at any stage. So the guards helping me. So I've told them that I will be liable to get run over because with no cruciate or cartilage in my knee, I can't have no breaks.
So once I start, that's it. I'll be going forward no matter what.
You know, it's funny, just before we started recording, Bernard actually told me he's got a rare weekend off this weekend. So Bernard's going to dust off the runners and join you, is he?
