What languages do the hosts try to speak in this episode?

Shayne Topp 0:00
I think within our lifetimes, we'll hit a point where like all dudes are wearing makeup again.
Unknown 0:05
We had that. In Korea, they wear makeup.
Shayne Topp 0:08
Yeah. I think we're going to, we kind of had it in the emo era. Like it was kind of normalized for dudes to wear makeup.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 0:14
H sometimes lets me put it on if he's going to like a warehouse party.
Shayne Topp 0:17
Oh, that makes sense.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 0:18
And then he went and we visited his friends first. And they're like, the fuck's on your face, bro.
Shayne Topp 0:22
And I was like. See, what I mean is I think we're going to hit a point at some point in the next decades where guys don't make fun of each other for that.
Unknown 0:29
Yeah, because it's awesome.

How do the hosts feel about learning Spanish?

Unknown 0:31
We'll hit that phase. They make fun of each other for having small babies.
Shayne Topp 0:34
Have you seen that trend on TikTok where it's like, I get robbed, but I actually grab the setting spray instead of pepper spray? No. And they do it with their boyfriends, and they do this thing, and then they put their boyfriends in full makeup, and they turn their like... And these guys look amazing with full makeup.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 0:49
I mean, you looked great at the Smosh hospital. I was like, okay, honey. Gorgeous, gorgeous.
Shayne Topp 0:55
Thank you.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 0:56
And in the trailer, you were like...
Shayne Topp 0:58
Oh, it's, you see yourself in the mirror and you're like.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 1:00
It was like, Court was just like, and you were just like, yeah.
Shayne Topp 1:04
Anthony and I were in the back just watching you and I was like, oh my God. Hola, bienvenido a Smosh Mouth. Soy Shane.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 1:14
Y soy Amanda. Y hoy tenemos un invitada espacial.

What challenges do the hosts face while speaking Tagalog?

Amanda Lehan-Canto 1:18
Olivia.
Shayne Topp 1:22
How did you guys like that? Bienvenidos.
Unknown 1:25
You automatically change your voice, like the tone of your voice.
Shayne Topp 1:27
I cannot help but go into like a soccer announcer. Yes. Because like that's like, hola, bienvenidos. Y futbol especial. Because I love that shit.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 1:37
Yeah. Mine's Spanish teacher. Lavas los platos. Bienvenidos. You do sound like a teacher.
Unknown 1:45
Yeah.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 1:45
I'm into it.
Unknown 1:46
You could pass as a teacher.
Teacher.
Unknown 1:48
Teach me something.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 1:50
Yeah, I'll teach you Spanish.

How do the hosts approach speaking Mandarin?

Amanda Lehan-Canto 1:52
Guys, why are we speaking different languages?
Shayne Topp 1:56
We kind of, in coming up with this episode, it was like an A to C type situation, right? We're like, the Super Bowl's coming up, but do people really want to hear us talk about football? No, but Bad Bunny is... is doing the halftime show. And Bad Bunny, a lot of his songs are in Spanish. And I was like, I love other languages. Let's try to see if we can read other languages as a bit of a challenge for ourselves.

What are the cultural insights shared about speaking Russian?

Unknown 2:18
This is why? This is why.
Shayne Topp 2:21
That's our excuse for doing it.
Unknown 2:23
I thought it was like, oh my God, did you guys know Olivia is Chinese? And then they're like... Yeah, I didn't think about that. Well, actually, it is true. You are Chinese. No, but you guys realize like, oh my God, she's Chinese. She speaks a different language.
Yeah.
Shayne Topp 2:37
It occurred to me a couple months ago for the first time.
Unknown 2:40
Yeah, that I'm Chinese.

How do the hosts connect language learning to personal experiences?

Amanda Lehan-Canto 2:42
Yeah, I thought you were just totally white. It was during Smosh Hospital.
Shayne Topp 2:45
Yeah.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 2:45
Yeah, you were like, oh my God, you're Chinese. Also, you next to Trevor. Oh my. He is like two feet. He's like double your size. Is he? I don't know, but seeing it on screen was wild.
Shayne Topp 2:59
No idea.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 3:00
It was wild. How tall is Trevor? I don't know.
Shayne Topp 3:03
I want to say Trevor's 6'4", 6'5". Anyways. So as of recording this episode, it's still January. But when this episode airs, the Super Bowl is next week. Or it's coming up.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 3:15
And your prediction was?

What humorous anecdotes arise from their language attempts?

Shayne Topp 3:17
So I predicted that the Rams and the Texans were going to go to the Super Bowl. That didn't happen. But something kind of crazy. I was thinking about this. All right. So this weekend, as of recording this, the Broncos and the Patriots are going to play in the AFC Championship. You versus me. I know. We're facing off. And Olivia's here. You know, it's crazy, though. So the Broncos in their last game, it was an insane game, but then their quarterback broke his ankle on the final play. So now in this game, Broncos are at a huge disadvantage. They're probably going to lose. If you remember, in our 2025 predictions, I said the Broncos are going to go to the AFC Championship and lose. Does nobody remember that I said that?
Shayne Topp 3:58
That was one of my predictions.
Amanda Lehan-Canto 4:00
When you're saying stuff like that, I just go, la, la, la, la, la.
