Welcome to Let's Fucking Glow. I'm your host, Erika Riley, an intuitive coach to high-level female leaders, entrepreneurs, and top-tier women who are here to level up and expand what's possible. This is where you activate your feminine magnetism, boss up your beliefs, and raise the bar on what's possible, aka everything. We're not here to settle for almost. We're here for more ease, more magnetism, and more magic. So if you're ready to shift realities and step into your highest timeline, let's fucking glow. This episode today is one where we are getting real. We are getting really real, really honest, and we are calling things out. How many of you have seen the movie Matilda? I'm sure a lot of you have because it is an iconic movie from the 90s, but remember the dad in Matilda. I mean, Matilda's parents are awful, but the dad specifically, Danny DeVito's character is...

He is just like the wormiest, scammiest guy. And he's a used car salesman. And he really lives up to the generalization. Like he is just putting it on. He's lying. He is full-blown lying. He is taking the mileage on cars and changing the numbers so that people think they're buying a car that doesn't have as much mileage when it really does. And he's such a bullshitter. He is a liar and a bullshitter. And when you think about somebody like that, you're like, yeah, that's somebody that is the ultimate bullshitter. And that is true. And also, there are certain areas of our lives where we do this to ourselves. And yeah, that one may sting a little and that one may kind of hit you. And you're like, what? I am a nice, kind, honest person. Like, how can you say that I'm a bullshitter like Matilda's dad? And there are certain areas of our life where we are bullshitting ourselves. We are

maybe holding on to connections that have expired. We are holding on to friendships that don't fuel us, friendships that aren't meant to go the distance. And we don't want to accept that. And so we hold on. And let me just say that I... came across this quote earlier this week and it said, your circle is your ceiling. And that is so true. It's like the very famous quote about you are a sum of the five people that you spend most of your time with. And The people that you surround yourself with, it matters. Because if you are surrounding yourself with people that are always talking about the worst case scenario, that are just...

How do we recognize when we’re bullshitting ourselves about friendships and career?

oozing fear. Like every time you talk to them, it's some other chaotic story and they're talking about, oh my gosh, but if this happens and that happens and that's who you're hanging out with, your ceiling's low, babe. Your ceiling is going to be so low. Or if you're low vibes, low frequency. They are engaging in things that are just not supporting the path that you're on. Your circle is your ceiling. That ceiling is going to be low. It's so important that you are surrounding yourself with people that believe in higher possibilities, that believe in themselves, that hold themselves to a certain standard, that raise the bar on who they are and are wanting to grow and evolve. That ceiling, that is like, it's like a castle, you know, the ceilings are like Beauty and the Beast style. And it's so important to

not bullshit yourself into holding on to relationships, whether they be friendship or romantic, where you know that person is dragging your ass down. You know that that guy is not supportive. You know that if the chips were down, he couldn't be there for you. You know that if you were really struggling with something, he's not a partner. He's a project. And you have to let go of those bullshit connections in your life that are dragging you down. Tune into yourself for one second and you will know whether something is fueling you or depleting you. And the more that you hold on to these kinds of connections, or maybe it's a job that you absolutely hate, it brings you down and you're always complaining about it. It is keeping your ceiling small. Like every time you are
