What is the opening introduction and premise of the Scaredy Boys special?

Neil McRobert 0:11
Hello and welcome to Talking Scared Off Book. I'm your host, Neil McRobber, and one more cheer for the cowards. It's part two of my special bumper conversation with Damo, Sean and Tom, aka the Scaredy Boys. These three likely lads have spent their entire lives in Australia being scared of the very idea of horror movies. and they began a podcast to confront their fears. Since twenty twenty they've watched hundreds of the scariest films from across the ages, and they offer some supremely smart and funny analysis on each. That's a reintroduction to them, but seriously, go back and listen to last week's part one if you haven't already. It's It's a blast. In this second part, we kick off quick as I just chuck questions at them about what's their favourite horror monster, which films disgusted them and which provoked the biggest arguments.
Neil McRobert 1:08
I describe a scene that upset me so much I had to pause for a trigger warning, and of course we all share our definitive number one horror movie of all time. It's an hilarious, profane hour and a half that I enjoyed very much, and I hope you do too. If you do, please review wherever you listen and consider becoming a patron to support the show. It is crucial as it funds me to keep making the damn thing, which takes up most of my working week. In return, you get ad free everything. many, many bonus episodes and extra interviews and deep reviews of books and movies and access to the Discord board to chat horror with like minded souls. It's all at patreon dot com slash talking scared pod. Thank you very much.

And don't forget to go listen to the Scaredy Boys themselves. You can find them anywhere you get podcasts, just type in Scaredy Boys Theirs really is my favourite horror movie podcast by far. But now, come with us back to that bar in the bush. The lights have grown dimmer now, the beer is flowing freely, and conversation has turned to the worst things we've ever seen. Let's talk a different kind of scared.

Damo, Sean, Tom, welcome back to Talking Scared off book. Part two of the Scaredy Boys crossover. How are you? Oh great. Good to be back.
Damo (Damien Robrider) [Damo] 2:44
Oh, we've scared seeing your face for the past twenty seconds. It's been a What a week it's been.
Tom (Carney / Sean? — appears to be Tom) [Tom] 2:51
I wasn't sure which way we're going with the illusion and I like that we've picked both options simultaneously. Let's do both. Yeah. Yeah.
Neil McRobert 2:57
Yeah. Listener, you believe what you want to believe. We we've either been apart for a week or not at all. Well i in your world, in your audio only world, last time round I introduced these boys. Um I'm not gonna do that again because we've got a lot to get through. So if if don't listen to part two without listening to part one basically, because I introduce these three as my favourite cowardly custard horror film podcasters who are working their way bravely and defiantly through all the horror films that they need to watch and and some that they probably shouldn't and some that I want them to.
Sean (HIGH CONFIDENCE) 3:33
Yeah.
Neil McRobert 3:34
But this time around it's gonna be a bit more of a fast paced affair, 'cause I've got a lot of questions for them to ask about things they've watched over the last three hundred episodes in six years to find out what's floated their boat and tweak their nerve endings.
Damo (Damien Robrider) [Damo] 3:47
It's like you've done almost three hundred episodes yourself, as it feels.
Neil McRobert 3:50
Oh, I don't know how many I've done 'cause I label mine so friggin' differently that I've got I don't know how many I've got. Um but let's start actually. Congrats on the three hundred. That's hell of a threshold. But did you celebrate accordingly? Thanks, man.
Damo (Damien Robrider) [Damo] 4:02
Yeah, we did. We went we happen to be already going away. We quite regularly go away together for what we call Scardy Boys, Scaredy Boy Retreats. Um, where we get some recording done, we watch some horror movies and we basically have a giant sleepover. It's great. It's really good. It's a good time. We try to do two a year basically. So we already had one of those lined up. Um, and then on top of that, we had a cake. We had a cake that I squirted some red Colored uh icing onto. So it made it look a little bloody and stuck some 300 candles in.
