And so I think it is indeed appropriate that we show you what is happening here because every single living president is among the folks who are paying tribute and honoring President Jimmy Carter. There you see them on the front row. You see President Clinton, his wife, Hillary Clinton, President Biden, now the current President of the United States, First Lady Jill Biden. You see the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, and her husband, Doug. And behind them, peeking over that, you see Melania Trump, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, and others who are there as well. And so a beautiful service for a beautiful person, says Violet Ray. So thank you very much. I think on days like today, when you see things like this happening, I just want to say that, look, guys, we talk about all the craziness that's happening.
And clearly, regardless of what camp that you're in, you realize that there's no other person that's like the person who's going to be sitting in the office. And so one would like to put aside all of that you know, the poking at folks, the politicizing of everything. There you see also behind, right between Jill Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, you see George Bush and Laura Bush there as well. And so there you go. Al Gore as well there in the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. So can we all just say a prayer? for the Carter family, for our country, for America, for the people who serve this country, for the patriots of this country, for the people who have served and fought for the rights of Americans, dignity, really for the rights of human beings around the world.
And that is Carter. There's Andrew. Jackson there, the former ambassador to the United States and friend of the former president, Jimmy Carter, both of them residing in Georgia, and they were very close. So, you know, we should put that aside because there are people, whether they were allies or they supported each other or they didn't, you know, who to be in the White House or whatever, that's how this country works. There are people who support certain political candidates and others who do not. And you can say what you want about Jimmy Carter. Jimmy Carter was not a supporter of Donald Trump. But Jimmy Carter was a patriot who served this country well, who fought for Democrats and Republicans, who, as a president, really fought for peace around the world.
In the Middle East, may have achieved more than any president in U.S. history when it comes to all the accords and what he did. He served this country honorably. And on a day like today, I think you put those things aside as folks did when senior George Bush passed away. as they did when Ronald Reagan passed away, as they did when, I remember when Richard Nixon passed away, when all of the presidents of the United States passed away, people put their political differences aside. And earlier, if you, I'm not sure if you've been watching this, but Barack Obama and Donald Trump were there, and you would have thought that they were best friends, the way that they were interacting with each other, because I believe more than most,
That Barack Obama understands American, the history of American America, the importance of this country, the importance of having a peaceful transition, a transfer of power.
