Not only what the fuck, I don't see a world where I am supposed to try to build a coalition or build a community with people who want kids hungry. Who want kids hungry at school. I don't know how you reach across the aisle to someone who is okay with kids starving from the hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's built into the program. There's people already cooking food there. That's why school lunch debt is something that boggles my mind. And I think if we were actually a country where you could truly be like, okay, take everything off of the board. Let's talk a little bit of class solidarity. School lunch is class solidarity at its lowest form. If you walk in that building, you get something to eat that day because you have to be there.

Jay, we've had a couple of really, really fun, great guests this week. One, Recy Colbert, was the guest host yesterday, and she and I had a conversation about whether Republicans are really aware of just how much harm they are going to unleash with this bill. Recy's of the school of thought, I initially thought that a lot of Republicans are just fucking dumb, that they don't realize... just what they're doing. Recy completely disagrees. Recy, and she ultimately convinced me that, no, Republicans are aware of what they're doing. Republicans know that their own constituents are going to go hungry, are going to die because of this legislation. But what's more important to them in her mind is that in this bill, they just get to own the libs, that this is ultimately just a manifestation of a decade plus, perhaps decades of just cultural grievance.
