I thought that Donald Trump got smacked around enough to where he would just just leave the pope alone because the pope holiness is not the one that you really want to come for. And there were very, very strong reactions across the political spectrum condemning Donald Trump's attacks on the pope. But he is still not dead. done he is still trying to have a one-sided beef with the pope and so i don't know if we have any any visuals on it but he is doubling down on going after the pope um and talking about how you know the pope is not good with war and all the other things And, you know, even though a lot of people have come out against Donald Trump, one person is like, that's my man.
I'm gonna stick beside him. And that is his vice president, J.D. Mann, who was at a flop of a Turning Point USA event yesterday. It was almost entirely empty. Erica Kirk and her ponytail. bailed from the event. She didn't have her sequins. She packed her sequins jacket back up. She packed her Pony Pony back up and she said, nah, I'm not going to be able to be there. It's too empty for me. I need to bring more people in. But anyway, we have a clip of J.D. Vance who converted to Catholicism in 2019 and I believe he has a whole new book out about him being Catholic. This is what he had to say in defense of Donald Trump beating with the Pope.
Number one, when the Pope says that God is never on the side of those who wield the sword, there is a thousand year, more than a thousand year tradition of just war theory, okay? Now we can of course have disagreements about whether this or that conflict is just, but I think that it's important, in the same way that it's important for the Vice President of the United States to be careful when I talk about matters of public policy, I think it's very, very important for the Pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology.
