All right. Wow, wow, wow, wow. Hi, everybody. I like that energy. Who's the gentleman back there that said, let's go, Don? I like that energy. How are you guys doing? Come on. How are you guys doing? I know it's hot outside. Thank you. Good evening, Houston. Is it always hot, this hot here? Damn, I grew up in Louisiana and this seems a lot hotter than Louisiana right now. But you know what else is hot? the political environment in this country. And I think we need to cool it down a little bit. We need to warm up going to the polls in November and cool down the temperature and all the craziness that's going on. So good evening, Houston. And good evening to everyone who is joining us via live stream. This is going to run in two ways.
It's going to run on my show, The Don Lemon Show. And it's also going to run, it's going to be part of Courier's Newsroom Midterm Series Forum, coming to you from right here in Houston, Texas, warm Houston, Texas. So wherever you're watching from, maybe you're watching from Dallas, maybe San Antonio, maybe you're watching from the Valley, somewhere outside of this state entirely, I want you to pull up a chair. And a lot of people are watching Texas right now. So we want you watching. And we know there's a lot of folks who are watching Texas right now. So I'm Don Lemon. And welcome to America in Conversation, presented by none other than, of course, Courier Newsroom. Here's what's happening this fall.
Courier is taking the newsroom on the road. Eight cities, six weeks. Your schedule is crazier than mine. Well, I don't know, somewhat, because I'm going to do a lot of these things. What have I gotten myself into? The battleground states that will decide control of the Senate, the House, the governorship, all across this country. So tonight, that road runs right through where you are now, Houston, Texas. And I get to host it. Do you guys know? I guess you probably know. When I was a kid, this is our vacation city. This is our vacation city. Guess where we went? Every year, we stayed at the Astroworld Hotel. And then we'd go to the Astro Dome. And I remember I saw Gladys Knight and the Pips there and the Commodores.
And then we rode the Texas Cyclone. Back in the day, right? I know. I miss those days. And we thought it was expensive to go to an amusement park now. Try going. I mean, then. Try going now. So look, it is not a rally. It is not a debate. Nobody's getting a buzzer. It's a conversation. It's real. And it is unscripted, OK? So it's a conversation between people running and the people that they would like to represent them. And that's you. The room here in Texas and everyone watching at home is where we are right now. So traditional candidate events talk to you. This one is built for you. You get to talk. It doesn't come from a consultant here, OK? The topics we're covering tonight is not consultant driven. We got it from you guys.
Some folks in the audience are going to participate.
