How did Donald Trump's 100th day in office treat you? Are you tired of winning yet? Now, here's the thing. I could spend yet another hour just reading off all the ways that Trump is screwing up the, I don't know, from his Liberation Day tariffs that have cratered the economy to his wanton disregard for the rule of law. There is a lot to do. But I think that I have done that sufficiently. And... Plenty of others have, too, as well. So what I'd like to do for you right now, something a little bit different. I want to hand the Democrats a report card for how they have handled these first 100 days. Who in the party is meeting the moment right now? Who is effectively fighting for the soul of this country and who's not?
So let's start with two Democrats who are, I think, killing it right now. Two Democrats who are electrifying the base and drawing hundreds of thousands, if not millions of Americans to their rallies. You guys know who I'm talking about, right?
You know, Idaho, I am so touched being here. I'm a girl from the Bronx. To be welcomed here in this state, all of us together, seeing our common cause, this is what this country is all about. Don't let them trick us into thinking we are enemies. Don't let them trick us into thinking we can be separated into rural and urban. Black and white and Latino, we are one.
Alexandria, they told us this was a conservative state. They got it wrong.
Idaho, I know that looking around here, it can feel impossible for Republicans out here to be defeated. That's not true. It's simply not true. And from the waitress who is now speaking to you today from this podium, I can tell you impossible is nothing.
And as Alexandria just said, when we stand together, when we do not allow them to divide us up, there is no stopping us.
Miracles start with mustard seeds. And that is what each and every one of you represent today. Small miracles of faith in ourselves, in each other, and in the refusal to give up.
I have been very open with all of you about how I didn't always adore AOC, well, her policies, right? I didn't used to think that she was my cup of tea, but no one in the party is doing more to wake Americans up right now than AOC and Bernie Sanders. They're the best in the business right now, period. It's end of sentence, right? Especially drawing crowds and getting people interested. Who knows what's next for AOC? Does she become the ranking member of the Oversight Committee? Does she challenge Chuck Schumer for his Senate seat? I don't know. Does she maybe run for president? Maybe in 2028? A little early, but who knows?

I don't know. But her future is bright. And speaking of people with bright futures ahead of them, let's move on to the next Democrat who has used these first 100 days to kick ass and to make history. I'm getting close to a record, folks, but...
There's a room here in the Senate named after Strom Thurmond. To hate him is wrong. And maybe my ego got too caught up that if I stood here, maybe, maybe, just maybe I could break this record of the man who tried to stop the rights upon which I stand. I'm not here, though, because of his speech. I'm here despite his speech. I'm here because as powerful as he was, the people were more powerful.
But I remind you, all those people who believe like me that we've got to redeem the dream, turn again to John Lewis, because you all know the story, my colleagues, of when the man that beat him savagely drew blood, cracked bones. Decades later, he was a congressman. That man brought his grandson with him to ask for forgiveness from John Lewis. I heard about this story when I was in the car in Georgia with him.

What did you do, John, this man that so viciously beat you, wounded you, bruised you, battered you? What did you do when he came to ask you for forgiveness? What did you do? And a good Christian man, man of faith, simply said, every one of us needs mercy. Every one of us needs redemption. I forgave him. I hugged him. We wept. And I looked at the boy. This nation needs you too.
