Don, it's good to see you, my friend, and thanks for having me on the show.
Yeah, look, we're all doing well. I hope you're doing well. We're trying to stay warm here. We're also trying to keep up with what's going on in the world. So I want to talk to you about the news of the day, and then we're going to talk about what happened last Tuesday during that election and specifically about Latino voters. So, Chuck... What do you make of these droppings that are happening every day from the Epstein files? Because it seems that the administration, in my estimation, they appear to be running scared or at least covering something up. What do you say?
Well, the way I look at it is I don't know if Donald Trump did anything wrong. I don't know what Donald Trump did in these documents. But I do know that Donald Trump is working real, real hard to make sure nobody sees them and that he says, don't worry, there's no there there. Now, I've been doing campaigns for 36 years, a long time. And when you have opposition who's this worried, there's definitely something going on there. And I think the American people see that as well. And I said this this morning on an earlier show, and it's important for everybody to know. is that the reason he's in this position and it's his own fault is that he's fed his base and all of the pod say, all of the folks out there talking about this, that's how he got elected is he fed them all this Epstein stuff.
And then when he got elected, he just acted like it went away. And those folks are hungry to hear what happened.
They're hungry to hear what happened. Look, I agree with you. No one knows what, you know, you don't know if Donald Trump did anything wrong or not. But, you know, when people act like they're guilty, folks become suspicious. Again, we don't know if he did anything wrong, but folks become suspicious. And we can only, you know, logically conclude that something is trying to be covered up. We don't know what it is. Maybe he's protecting some other people or whatever it is. But it seems to be a crisis of his own making.
Absolutely, and think about what he did with the United States House of Representatives. I know we'll get to the news of the day, which is a lot to have to do with this, but also the Speaker of the House shut down the house and sent them home for like 55 days because he did not wanna deal with having to turn over these files. Yesterday, my good friend, Adelita Grijalva, the daughter of the great Raul Grijalva, was sworn into Congress. She had been elected 50 days ago, and they would not swear her in because she was the 218th vote on a discharge position that would demand that the U.S. House of Representatives take a vote on releasing these files. That's how scared the Republicans are of this issue.
You said she's your good friend. Did you see her acceptance speech?
I did, I did. And I saw all of her family and I got a little emotional because Raul, his wife was there, her mother who I've known for years, and she's a salt of the earth person.
What do the newly released Epstein files reveal about Trump's behavior and reaction?
What did you think of her speech? Because she was pretty fiery and saying, look, I'm going to vote right now to have these files released. And basically saying, I'm gonna, which is what politicians should do, representatives should do. I'm here to represent the people. I'm not here to make excuses. So it seems like she's a woman on a mission.
She really is. And they've done what they shouldn't do, which is if you're going to have opposition, you don't want to elevate them. Again, as a strategist, one thing you don't want to do is give her a bigger voice. Nobody in Congress or around America would have known who Adelita Grahova, They can't even say her name. Now, I promise you they can say her name because she's become a kingpin in this whole process of being the final vote.
